Endorsements
editDavid Eby has the endorsement of 48 MLAs [1]. Are we really going to list all 48 members, one per line, in the endorsements box? Because if we do, it's going to make up the bulk of the page, and I think there must be a better way to list this information. Auto-hide the box? Use a format like on 2014 British Columbia New Democratic Party leadership election? — Kawnhr (talk) 04:15, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- We should just nix the endorsements list completely and make a prose statement that he has the support of 48, and maybe name some of the prominent ones (maybe limited to those who were considered possible contenders). It's meaningless and WP:UNDUE to list 48 MLAs. —Joeyconnick (talk) 08:42, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
Did Don Davies endorse Eby?
editHaving a bit of a content dispute so I thought I'd raise it on the Talk page and get other editors' input. In dispute: Did Don Davies endorse David Eby or not? It hinges on this tweet:
I’m so glad to see David Eby announce his bid for BCNDP leader. From his days as a crusading lawyer for the disadvantaged to deft handling of tough Ministries, his intelligence, integrity, compassion and drive for justice will make him an inspiring leader and a great Premier!
@Iclaudius2022 says Davies is simply welcoming Eby to the race and that this does not constitute an endorsement; I say that saying someone will make "an inspiring leader and a great Premier" does constitute an endorsement. What do others think? — Kawnhr (talk) 20:51, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
- I definitely view this as an endorsement of David Eby. His tweet was not neutral towards Eby, and specifically mentions him being a great Premier. Canooks (talk) 07:45, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- With your input, I'm going to go ahead and add it back to the page. Iclaudius2022, if you still object, I invite you to explain your view here. — Kawnhr (talk) 04:11, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
