Page title

edit

At some point should probably make the location in the page title more specific, as Puget Sound is quite large... Lukobe (talk) 18:39, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

A table of state-by-state casualties is not common and oversteps the purpose of Wikipedia (e.g. WP:NOTMEMORIAL). SounderBruce 05:37, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
As far as I know, no solid consensus has ever been reached at WP:AV regarding whether victim nationality tables violate WP:NOTMEMORIAL. However, this particular table clearly violates MOS:FLAGRELEVANCE in using subnational flags without a clear encyclopedic purpose, and there's little precedent for using such a table in an aircraft accident article (think about how cluttered it could become in the crash of a widebody airliner). Also, there has been a lengthy and contentious debate on WP:AV about whether flag icons are generally appropriate in victim tables. My personal opinion is that this particular table doesn't contribute anything to the understanding of the topic. Carguychris (talk) 23:43, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

2022 Mutiny Bay Seaplanes DHC-3 crash

edit

change this title better same reason as 2017 Sydney Seaplanes DHC-2 crash Leading the way TWA 800 (talk) 06:46, 4 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

How many other DHC-3s crashed in Mutiny Bay in 2022? If the answer is "None", then the current title is perfectly c!ear and unambiguous. BilCat (talk) 17:46, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

ntsb safety recommendation

edit

https://www.ntsb.gov/news/press-releases/Pages/NR20221027.aspx info from this doc should be added to the article but i'm too busy to do it at the moment.

During the examination of the airplane wreckage, the NTSB found that the clamp nut that attaches the top eye end and bearing assembly of the horizontal stabilizer actuator to the actuator barrel had unscrewed from the barrel. The examination also found that the circular wire lock ring, which was designed to prevent the clamp nut from unscrewing, was not present. If the actuator barrel and the clamp nut are not secured together and become separated, the actuator would not be able to control the position of the horizontal stabilizer, resulting in a reduction or loss of pitch control.
