There has recently been edits from editors (including IP editors) to the page adding poorly sourced or unsourced text to the Background section, especially the portion on the candidates general campaign, which I'll detail more on later below. Firstly, I hope this section can work as a way to discuss any proposed additions because the text as it exists as of recently works well enough. The sources already make clear that the general summary of the race between the two are conservation vs. economy of public lands with a few reasons to why this is so along with what both agree on. I don't think more info is needed as it's going to look like the campaigns are POV-pushing or trading jabs at on another with their own ideas.
As for the low-quality edits, many seem to follow a similar pattern, along with what reads like POV as text keeps being added to seemingly cater towards Beutler's campaign while text on Upthegrove is often removed or significantly trimmed down. For example this edit adds text and a source that has nothing to do with the race or Upthegrove. This is WP:SYNTH. This other edit removes sourced text, seems to POV-push for Beutler's campaign with added text backed by poor sources. This edit from another editor earlier added similar unsourced or poorly sourced and POV text. I find the similarity of the edits to be odd plus that such recent edits are not adhering to appropriate sourcing and NPOV. SlackingViceroy (talk) 04:18, 24 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
