I have not attempted an extensive survey, but most similar articles appear to use "-inch" and "-caliber" (e.g. see the list at 12"/50 caliber gun). These are using quote marks (not the proper symbol for an inch) and not using hyphenation of "caliber" (or are missing "caliber" altogether). Maybe the first one of these should use "Mark 1" instead of "field". —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 18:17, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

• Comment I would avoid introducing Mark numbers unless necessary to disambiguate between specific gun articles, so "field gun" is fine unless there are similar US Army guns. GraemeLeggett (talk) 19:16, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
