Cast
editPutting Donald Rhoades and Andy Stein under the cast list as they are credited as being in the film on IMDb and they're both in the trailer. Somebody removed them under the argument "they aren't credited on the poster"... it's an old poster. I asked the director if there's an updated poster, will try to get it. - If they are listed on that on a newer poster, then yes, we can add them. I don't question that they aren't in the film (the previews show Dusty) but they are "no names" in the larger picture of WP. Just because they are credited at IMDb doesn't mean we include them that way. --MASEM (t) 17:28, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
New Poster
editI'm asking on behalf of Mr. Brent Hodge, the director of this film... a new poster for the film has been released to the public. I was asked by Brent to upload it in place of the old poster that's currently up on the page. In the past I've tried to upload pictures to Wikipedia on behalf of people who have asked me to make pages for them, but they've been taken down on account of not having the right licenses to be on Wikipedia. What do we need to do to get this new poster up on the article? --Marshan3q (talk) 12:10 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm assuming that we're still taking about a copyrighted poster? And I think I've seen the updated poster (it's a collage of brony images, right?) As long as you have a source for where this poster is from, you should be able to upload a new version on the current poster file page, and then update the sources appropriately. --MASEM (t) 02:46, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, Hodgee Films holds the rights to the poster, and the poster that you're referring to is the one I'm talking about. So it'd have to be on one of his personal sites I'm guessing, right? Or the film's official site? Thanks for being patient with me man, new to this. --Marshan3q (talk) <03:09, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- Just as a note - the fact he uploaded it CC-BY on flickr, we should be good. However, and this is just something to keep in mind in case someone comes along and points this out - there are arguably derivative works of MLP on this poster (ponies in close-to-show format), and that might make it not a free image. If that does turn out to be the case, we'd just upload the image here to en.wiki but we can still use that same starting point to include it, but we'd just have to claim it non-free. But, the other aspect is that the possible-copyrighted stuff is used in de minimus - they are part of the background when the poster's imagery focus is on Bell's expression there as well as the various fandom characters around her. And that could be argued as free, if that point is brought up. Either way, we can use this poster, it just a question of free vs non-free. --MASEM (t) 04:10, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
