some of the wording in this article seems a little too casual. also, many lines seem taken almost word-for-word from the criterion co. DVD blurb. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.182.167.102 (talkcontribs).

Neutrality

edit

Phrases like "it is perhaps is not as good as these..." are not neutral - AKeen 18:18, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was unable to find any sources to back this statement up. Therefore I removed the statement. I tried searching my university databases, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, AllTheWeb, MSN, Lycos, Technorati, Feedster, Google, and a bunch more that I have set up in firefox. All yielded no results. If anyone has any questions about this, and or wants to bring up a discussion about this, feel free to ask me on my talk page to join in. I will not be watching this page. —— Eagle 101 (Need help?) 04:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Plagiarism

edit

The Criterion's website on this film includes the same language describing the characters as this wikipedia article. I'm not sure about the terms of use, but I'm pretty sure that violates some kind of rule. Cheers, 98.223.240.154 (talk) 06:29, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Character surnames

edit

I removed the surname "Récamier" from Angela and added it to Émile. My only official source is the IMDb: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055572/ and I hope that's enough, but if you follow the dialogue you'll notice that Jean-Claude Brialy's character identifies himself as Émile Récamier when he calls Alfred's neighbor, while only their own neighbor ever calls Angela "Madame Récamier". As we hear that the lead couple's not married yet, it's unlikely she'd share his name. The logical inference is that the neighbor mistakenly assumes they're married and gets her surname wrong.
