Missing articles
editI notice an awful lot of writers who have won this Oscar haven't got articles! --Orange Mike 23:04, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Typical - writers getting ignored. Our local tv station that broadcasted the Oscars last night actually cut out both Screenplay awards! Can you believe that?! (Great way NOT to encourage upcoming - not to mention current - writers! It gets me so mad! People forget that writing is the bedrock & without it actors would have no decent material to work with. Sorry to vent here, but all other potential forums seem to be all about the glamor & the image!!! grrrr!) --Tyranny Sue (talk) 04:57, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Not correct name of award
editThe Academy goes to specific pains to not include "Best" in the name of the award. See Oscars.org. Additionally, the award doesn't say "Writing" -- it says only "Original Screenplay." The proper title of this article should be "Academy Award for Original Screenplay." -- 207.237.223.118 (talk) 20:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Special Winners: Married Couples
editThe special winners section mentions Murial and Sydney Box having won the award in 1945, and then says, "Only three other married couples won an Oscar in another category," then mentioning Earl W. Wallace and Pamela Wallace (for Original Screenplay), Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh (for Adapted Screenplay and Picture), and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (for Original Song). However, this is not accurate (or is too ambiguously worded). Other married couples to win academy awards include: Victor Heerman and Sarah Y. Mason (adapted screenplay, 1932/33), and Julia and Michael Phillips, with Tony Bill (best picture 1972). There are likely others as well. Vadaszaaron (talk) 09:15, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
