I strongly object to the deletion of this article. Acroyoga is a recognized and valid new form of Yoga that is rapidly being recognized by advanced yoga teachers and practitioners throughout the world. Other examples of schools with wikipedia references include:

I'll try to add more info when I get time - but there are two schools of acroyoga - one based in Montreal (whose use of the term slightly predates the version described here) and the one here based in San Francisco. They seem quite similar, but exist in parallel. The acroyoga.com site has a timeline. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.57.148 (talk) 22:51, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

http://www.acroyoga.com/acroyoga-timeline/ (ACroyoga timeline) This is where the acroyoga montreal info came from. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.180.199.227 (talk) 20:22, 12 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Adding new acro schools

edit

I'm considering adding other acro schools like Acro Reveolutions and Acrovinyasa. What are peoples thoughts? Gregology.net 08:59, 11 January 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregology (talkcontribs)

Stupid idea. Wikipedia does not promote commercial enterprises. I have removed some promo content. Zezen (talk) 18:40, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Zezen: Can you be more constructive? There is value in knowing the existing schools & history of the practice. It doesn't need to be promotional Gregology.net 21:18, 29 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Random Ideas for Improvement (June 2021)

edit

Thought I'd document some things I'll try to come back and work on:

  • Fix external links section, up to code
  • Add section (if appropriate?) of famous people who do AcroYoga - Tom Brady, Ashley Judd, Sergei Brin, Jake Paul - as example of growing popularity
  • Check rules for case/camel-case regarding Acroyoga versus AcroYoga and check history for prior edits and why it may have been changed
  • AcroYoga in popular culture: any movies?
  • Sample instructional videos / How-to guides, ex: YouTube videos
  • More detailed chronological history

Neutral spelling

edit

Could editors with an interest in one or another company please note that Wikipedia has adopted a strictly neutral spelling, "Acroyoga", for this article. Everyone is aware that several other spellings are in use; we are however required to be strictly neutral, so that it is obvious to readers that we are not taking sides in any way. To that end, we have a neutral spelling that doesn't favour any particular company, and we cover each company's history as evenly as possible, without either praising or denigrating anyone. Please stop self promoting

edit

There have been multiple self promotion edits on this article. Most recently linking to a book on Amazon claiming to be the first ever acroyoga book (if you search amazon for acroyoga books you'll see hundreds of results published before this recent book). Self promotion and deceitful tactics like this are unacceptable and will be quickly reverted. Gregology.net 20:54, 8 September 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregology (talkcontribs)
