edit

I started Action Quake 2 a while back, but my memory of the game is pretty fuzzy, and I have no idea how it relates to Action Half-life. Does anyone know whether it should it be merged in here, or mentioned, or what? - Lifefeed 01:17, Dec 6, 2004 (UTC)

I've added a short sentence about AQ2 and AUT being the other mods in the series. 24.249.98.53

I added two articles written about AHL in response to a request to satisfy WP:SOFTWARE. I should point out that's only a proposed policy, but these articles should satisfy it nonetheless. Ruyn 18:06, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

It is unfortunate that there is not much "independent research" on the action line of mods. These mods (and their creators) were the first semi-realistic fps shooters that dominate much of the gaming industry today. It is unfortunate that Wikipedia is not accommodating to such things, and perhaps it will never be measurable in terms of "notability".. Anyway..

I have no way to see that this mod is particularly notable among mods. - A Link to the Past (talk) 16:42, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
You will not likely find printed or collected material on a non-commercial project. This is not to say that it is not notable, and it would be a mistake to remove it.. The fact that it is still played roughly 7-8 years later should be notable enough (..among mods - obviously not an "internet fad").. and it clearly exists with enough development efforts outside the original creators.. I honestly don't see what isn't notable about it.. not to mention it's creative proximity to Counter-Strike, made by two members of the original action-series team, who happen to have individual articles because of that, almost exclusively.. but, after all.. they went commercial. I know it was mentioned in an issue of PCGamer somewhere, sometime. Look it up. SockMonkeh 04:58, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know of this mod and I don't even own Half-life. It was definately one of the more popular mods, almost certainly worth inclusion. I see no reason to delete this article.Darkcraft 12:44, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Just a quick thing about notability. If that becomes (still is?) a problem then this link might help. An art project that takes its name from AHL Govtpiggy 20:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Ahl logo.jpg

edit

Image:Ahl logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Release date

edit

Does anyone remember when the first beta version was released? --Mika1h (talk) 08:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Long enough ago that it was already an established mod when the 1.1 Patch That Broke All Mods was released, and I'm pretty sure that was sometime in 1999. Superslash (talk) 05:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
