Attributing race to persons based on physical appearance
editI have removed "She is the second Black/African woman to win the Miss Dominican Republic pageant (the first was Ruth Ocumárez in 2001)." There is no source backing up the statement. Apparently the editor made a guess based on physical appearance. Even if we were to accept the guess that she is a person of mixed racial heritage including SOME black ancestry that does not necessarily makes her "black". The so-called One-drop rule (that considers "Black" any person with any trace of black African ancestry, however small) is by no means a world standard. A term for a person of mixed White and Black ancestry is Mullato, but we should not even attribute that to a person solely on the basis of a guess from his/her appearance. --Virgrod (talk) 06:45, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
