As a reminder, we cannot use tabloid journalism on articles on living people. --John (talk) 22:53, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Comments on the material above

BLP is not really the area I care about or want to be editing on WP.

I know the personality in question from the press in Brazil. She is a very prominent celebrity in current Brazilian culture because of her physical traits and because of her history, mainly the fact that she was Airton Senna's girlfriend when he died. My impression is that she does use this physical traits and those facts as media assets to promote herself socially and financially.

From the Brazilian press I am referring to above I know I could find sources for many of the possible facts about her biography mentioned above that were removed. I am just not sure that such sources, even though they would not be immediately characterized as tabloid journalism, are much more reliable than the Daily Mail article that was removed above. As far as BLP and Brazilian celebrities are concerned, that Daily Mail article seems to me to be pretty well researched and written, and if I am not mistakes the journalist who published it could be considered a reliable source.

By the way, all these "facts" and the sequence in which they were presented in the WP article were not completely known to me before I saw them removed from WP.

But, as I said, BLP is not really the WP area I care about or am interested in editing, so I am going to leave this subject as is. warshy (¥¥) 14:58, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

One possible way of re-adding the deleted material above would be using the {rn} template after a few of the unsourced statements? warshy (¥¥) 15:02, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
No I don't think that would work. We need proper sources and a consensus here before we can include this. We can't even use the material on this talk page without proper sources. John (talk) 17:27, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
The following web source is on the second ref in the article, and it was not removed, so I assume it is 'kosher' for WP BLP
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0302235/bio
But more than that. All the refs necessary for the material that was deleted and much more are all there in the WP Portuguese language/Brazil article about the subject. Just with the first ref above, that is already in the article 80% of the material removed can already be re-added. warshy (¥¥) 20:57, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid that assumption is also incorrect. Imdb is not usually considered a very strong source. If there are good foreign-language sources, your first step would be to post them on here so we can see just how good they are. --John (talk) 21:51, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Screw it. Who cares? If I really want to learn about her going forward I'll just look in the Portuguese WP. As for English readers of WP I guess you are the authority. Enjoy. warshy (¥¥) 19:23, 11 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
