NPOV issues (note: this comment found undated/unsigned at january 2012)
editI've tagged this article with the NPOV-check tag to bring attention to the use of epithets such as exorbitant and disastrous, which do not sound like they represent a NPOV, but rather the author's emotions towards the brand. Additionally, phrases such as "abysmally unhelpful and a discredit to Sony" do not belong in an encyclopedia.
Sony or Aiwa
editIt makes no sense that Aiwa was bought by Aiwa Corporation! Surely it should say Sony Corporation? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.129.210.61 (talk) 13:29, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I have a Aiwa solid state radio tape recorder " reel to reel " TPR-102. Any body know if it is worth anything ?? contact scottshonting@gmail.com.

Fair use rationale for Image:AiwaCur.jpg
editImage:AiwaCur.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:20, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Product quality
editSomewhere in the artcle should be mentioned that the brand was of terrible quality.
- Please remember that we are trying to create an encyclopedia, not a review site. Zanusi 16:05, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Quality is relative; I still have an AIWA cassette tape/AM/FM player that still works despite being dropped countless times, and being loaded up with 2 lithium batteries 1 alkaline battery and one NIMH battery at the same time for about 4 months. (Ask a battery guru why this is a VERY BAD IDEA). The point is, not everything AIWA made was "terrible quality", and Zanusi is correct, terrible quality is only notable if it caused media coverage, or is well known, I.E. Action Park's terrible safety regulations. Naglfar or Gleipnir? (talk) 19:58, 15 March 2009 (UTC) I had a Aiwa stereo that worked for 20 years until june of 2015 when a tornado destroyed my house and the stereo died in hte tornado — Preceding unsigned comment added by Igotrekt (talk • contribs) 19:23, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

- Please read the article for references, this page is for discussing the article, not the company. Zanusi 16:01, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Sony's reasoning for acquiring Aiwa.
