- ... that Albert Smijers was one of the first Dutch musicologists to receive a doctorate?
Created by Kingoflettuce (talk). Self-nominated at 03:11, 5 March 2022 (UTC).
- New enough, long enough. QPQ checks. Well written and cited. Hook cited, though offline. AGF, this is good to go. Damien Linnane (talk) 09:28, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

File(s)
edit- What is the source for circa 1950 for
File:Albert Smijers.png
? The cited work is from 1958, which was 65 years ago. By my understanding of the license on Commons, this would mean that the photograph is not in the public domain, no?
- It's been too long since I've seen this so it was probably my bad. Have taken it down to avoid any doubts. KINGofLETTUCE 👑 🥬 16:03, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Prose
edit- I would explicitly note in the lead that he published Werken van Josquin des Prez. Also:
- I would also note that it was first published in 1921.
- Overall, the lead could be greatly expended IMO; it should summarise some more in-depth aspects of his career, even if the article is short.
- In § Early life, I would lead with his full name as its his first mention in the body.
- "born in Raamsdonksveer to" – change to "Raamsdonksveer, Geertruidenberg, North Brabant" as is standard for place names.
- Likewise, it should be "Klosterneuburg in Lower Austria" as many readers will not know that Klosterneuburg is in another country.
- Add " (''{{lang-en|Karl Luython as a Composer of Motets}}'') " next to the name of his thesis.
- Should be "publications, and would eventually" to separate the line about Petrucci.
- IMO "and it was completed" should be its own sentence as "It was completed".
- "Jacob Obrecht, and" – unnecessary comma.
- "The Netherlands" – should be a lowercase the here.
- "From 1952 till 1955" – until.
- Should be "Huis ter Heide, Netherlands".
