The contents of the A Fine Frenzy page were merged into Alison Sudol on January 17, 2016. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page.

Consensus is to have two articles, one for the musical artist and one for the person (in non-musical endeavors)

Since the last album's release in 2012, she has predominantly been using her name (Alison Sudol) in various endeavors. In addition to her new involvement in acting, fashion/style magazines and humanitarian/charity work use her name rather than musical moniker. It may be time to move the article to the current redirect Alison Sudol and redirect AFF to that article.--☾Loriendrew☽☏(talk)04:25, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
hi - i think this is how i leave a comment? :-)
In numerous interviews recently Alison has talked about moving on from A Fine Frenzy and concentrating on acting and other musical projects. alongside her humanitarian and charitable work there is obviously more to Alison than A Fine Frenzy and as such she deserves to have a page dedicated to these other parts of her career under her personal name. thanks :-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dannyduncombe (talk • contribs) 04:38, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Or, should there be separate articles for Alison Sudol and A Fine Frenzy? There are many occurrences in which members of musical groups have their own articles. ---Another Believer(Talk)13:12, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Is AFF a group? This article is written like it is a person and solo artist with a stage name, which was the WP:COMMONNAME for the artist. Band personnel do not seem to be consistent to justify "band name" given the amount of citations referring to AFF as a person.--☾Loriendrew☽☏(talk)14:51, 12 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Just seems AAF content could have an article and Sudol could have an article, but maybe that goes against precedent. I don't see anything wrong with having an article dedicated to an individual's stage presence. It might effectively separate Sudol's musical work from her other projects. If having separate articles is not preferred, I would say AAF should be redirected to an article about Sudol. ---Another Believer(Talk)04:26, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Interesting RfC. It looks like you have many options: 1) move the current article to her given name and discuss the band within the bio 2) move the current article to her given name and split the band out into a new article 3) do nothing. Viriditas (talk) 04:12, 13 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
hi everyone - it feels like there should be separate articles. A Fine Frenzy is a band project predominantly led by Alison Sudol, with a specific name, albums released, tours, music in movies etc and, in the interests of people researching the topic on wikipedia, should have its own page but Alison Sudol is an individual who is an actress, author and writer outside of any musical endeavors - to list her acting credits under A Fine Frenzy is wrong as she doesnt 'act' as A Fine Frenzy. A Fine Frenzy is not Alison Sudol. I'm pretty new here - how does this get resolved? Thanks for all your input :-) added by Dannyduncombe (talk • contribs) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.185.104.202 (talk) 17:52, 17 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I will be closing this tomorrow evening to work on the split of this article rather than a rename (per consensus). If anyone has any other comments please contribute.--☾Loriendrew☽☏(talk)18:48, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I agree with this split as well. Alison Sudol has not been active as A Fine Frenzy for several years and has been using her own name since. The A Fine Frenzy official Facebook account now reads "Alison Sudol," which offers evidence of this change. This page also does not discuss Sudol's acting work, which has been a prominent part of her career recently. [1]--☾kateeweimer☽☏(talk) 11:52, 19 March 2015 (PST)

I propose to merge A Fine Frenzy into Alison Sudol, since both articles are about the same person. Like previously stated by other users, Sudol has lately been operating mainly under her birth name, which leads to the adequate conclusion to display information about her solely under that lemma. There is no cogent reason to keep both articles, which are also redundant in some parts. rayukk | talk12:49, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Support. We do not have separate pages for Lady Gaga and Stefani Germanotta. If A Fine Frenzy had been a band or a duo, it would make more sense but, it's just Alison calling herself something else. What we now have are two separate pages for mildly notable people, who are in fact the same mildly notable person.Cebr1979 (talk) 23:51, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Support: Per reasons stated above. The article A Fine Frenzy can easily be merged into this one to include both her musical and acting career.--Babar Suhail (talk) 21:48, 3 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I am wondering why, when you google "Alison Sudol", her "A Fine Frenzy" page appears, rather than her Alison Sudol page? Further more, when you google "cast of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them", it is again her "A Fine Frenzy" page that appears in the cast list. This is incorrect, for the credits of the film list "Alison Sudol" and not "A Fine Frenzy". Is there anyway for this to be changed/coded differently in Wikipedia so that Alison Sudol's true personal page, not the page of a now defunct musical project, appears first and foremost when searched for? — Preceding unsigned comment added by KatWasy (talk • contribs) 16:54, 28 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I think this section should be removed completely. The links used as references don't actually include anything about her prose writing and the latest primary source I can find saying that Sudol is working on a novel is from 2012. Taking six years to release a novel isn't unheard of obviously [*cough* George RR Martin *cough cough*], but she hasn't currently released anything other than the children's book mentioned in her "Music" section and there's no release date for the book. If she signs a publishing deal in the future and/or provides more details about the book in a more recent interview, this section could be added back.
I agree. It's not notable that she reads books, and she herself has not published anything. (Like most of the article, to be honest) it reads like meaningless filler added in by her PR agency. Removing it now. Luxatron (talk) 15:05, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
