Wrong title
editLampford I see you have moved this from "Alive and ticcing" (the correct spelling for tic, not tick) and you've given no valid reason. Please explain? If there is an error in translation somewhere, that is not reason for us to continue the error. What is your source for the incorrect spelling? The only sources listed in the article are non-English, and Imdb is not a reliable source. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 18:54, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Sandy! Did I make a mistake by moving the title to "Alive and Ticking"? The correct title of this movie is "Alive and Ticking". Don't you believe me? Please enter "Alive and Ticking" and "Andi Rogenhagen" in the search mask of GOOGLE. Here are some sources: http://letterboxd.com/film/alive-and-ticking/ or http://www.german-films.de/filmarchive/browse-archive/view/detail/film/alive-and-ticking/
With kind regards, Lampford--Lampford (talk) 18:56, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- There seems to be a translation error, that is proliferating. Letterboxd is not a reliable source, Imdb is not a reliable source on this matter (it is on some), german-films may be a reliable source, but they are a German source and seem to have continued the translation error. I have searched Google, and have not found a single source that is based in English (that is, does not include the translation error). Do you have an English-based source that substantiates the misspelling/mistranslation as intentional? It's perhaps not worth my time since it's such an obscure film, so I may just let the incorrect title stand ... SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:07, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hello again, I think "Alive and Ticking" is the correct title and there are a lot of reliable sources (filmfestivals, German film fundings, etc.). Here are a few sources: http://www.nordmedia.de/produktionsspiegel/detail/ein_tick_anders.653.html, https://www.globalscreen.de/cinema.comedy/content/show/107183, http://www.buff.se/en/langfilm/alive-and-ticking/, http://www.ffhsh.de/sites/en_1486.asp, http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/german-films-make-big-splash-194722, http://www.ibtimes.com/water-elephants-open-14th-shanghai-international-film-festival-289999. --Lampford (talk) 19:21, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- I will add the Hollywood Reporter (English language) source to the article, and not worry about whether there is a translation error or whether the title is intentional ... I address that with a hatnote, and any more effort to sort that out is probably not worth my time. Thanks, ! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:26, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- My pleasure, Sandy! Have a nice day!--Lampford (talk) 20:05, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- Same to you! If you ever come across anything indicating the tic/tick distinction was intentional, please let me know ... I don't speak German, so think the best/fastest solution here is the hatnote. Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 20:10, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
