The result of the move request was: not moved. procedural close as a current RFC is happening for naming, if you wish to re-open, leave a message on my talk page, and give me at least 24 hours to respond. link. (non-admin closure) Valorrr (lets chat) 19:43, 13 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

– Unnecessary disambiguation and inline with other towns that don't need disambiguation (such as Mosman or Bankstown). Per WP:NCAUST. New pages already redirect to current page. Note to closer: There is an open RfC at Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board#RfC: The convention for naming Australian place articles regarding the relevant naming conventions. Recommend a procedural close pending the outcome of that discussion.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfadden (talkcontribs) 20:45, 24 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Servite et contribuere are you aware of another place or target for Belrose? I am not seeing any, nor any close matches come up within wikipedia's search function . The only other article I have any concerns about in this list is Avalon Beach as there are two communities by the same name, both located in Michigan, USA: Avalon Beach, Michigan; Avalon Beach, Monroe County, Michigan. Given both are unincorporated, the targets are redirects to the surrounding townships. I think it's unlikely that either would be WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, but would support striking Avalon Beach from the RM for separate discussion as well, or withdrawal of the nomination. Dfadden A Person with the surname. Jack Belrose. When there is a pre exisiting redirect note (For other uses or another article) it is probably best to do an RM separately alone Servite et contribuere (talk) 07:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I not sure that too many people would confuse Jack Belrose with a suburb called Belrose. However I understand your logic and since you and I have both raised issues for further discussion on separate articles listed in the RM, I will vote Oppose to allow for due process. Section on Antisemitism

[edit]

Propose removing the section heading Antisemitism on this page.

The Southern Sydney Synagogue is located in Allawah and has been the subject of antisemitic attacks which should be listed and acknowledged.

A full section labelled Antisemitism goes beyond this and is inconsistent with how other suburb pages in Sydney have been edited (e.g. there is no antisemitism section in Newtown or Queens Park despite similar antisemitic attacks in those suburbs). Hanne Thato (talk) 21:30, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

– Per WP:NCAUST, WP:PTOPIC and WP:CONCISE the disambiguation is not necessary. Targets already redirect to the current pages. TarnishedPathtalk 09:00, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Oppose The nominated articles have had stable titles for many years (Allawah, New South Wales itself for 19 years). I note the previous RM was closed in light of the RfC concerning WP:NCAUST. Notwithstanding, the arguments presented in the first RM above do not appear to indicate a strong consensus either way. WP:AT states If an article title has been stable for a long time, and there is no good reason to change it, it should not be changed. Consensus among editors determines if there does exist a good reason to change the title. Considering the apparent stalemate in the RfC discussion, including whether WP:PTOPIC alone is a good reason to change the article names, there is little to suggest this lack of consensus has changed. The stable titles should remain at least for the time being. Dfadden (talk) 10:00, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
The RM above was not closed in accordance with WP:DETCON. If I had been aware of the close at the time, or soon after I would have had the discussion reopened, which the closer indicated they were willing to do. Policy (such as WP:CONCISE) gives us good reason for change. TarnishedPathtalk 10:34, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Also, this is not the same list of proposed moves as the last discussion. specific proposals which editors opposed have been removed. TarnishedPathtalk 10:40, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Comment I also have specific reservations about Allawah as there is an Alawa, Northern Territory, which itself is named for the Alawa people. The pronunciation is the same so there is some potential for confusion. Disambiguation is not strictly necessary, but it does make it easier particular for those who speak English as a second language and seach phonetically. Dfadden (talk) 11:08, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Different spelling. We don't need to maintain disambiguation because of differnet topics with spelling differences. WP:SMALLDETAILS suggests that if readers end up on the wrong page they can be assisted by for example a hatnote. TarnishedPathtalk 21:45, 6 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
