@No Swan So Fine, I think you can. You contributed, so it's in part your credit. The first GA credit I took was where someone else started it and I contributed. I didn't have enough confidence to do it by myself at that point. All it took was that little bit of experience to give me more confidence.

I am not asking you to write anything on my behalf as a paid editor, and no one is being compensated; I'm reaching out via user talk because Wikipedia's guidance for subjects is to seek an independent editor rather than self-create. I noticed from your recent thread that you're in China through end of September on family holidays — please treat this as a low-priority, no-timeline note; if it's easier to consider after Oct 1 or pass on it entirely, I completely understand.

I found your name on the WikiProject Texas active-editor list and, more importantly, noticed your GA/DYK and AfC experience — that is why I am approaching you specifically rather than posting a generic request, even though I can see from your userpage that Texas is not your subject area. My hope is that the procedural/notability review side of a well-sourced BLP might be interesting on its own terms; if not, no problem at all.

I've assembled what I believe is a submission-quality notability packet with a neutral draft article, a full sourcing dossier keyed to every claim, and an explicit notability assessment against WP:AUTHOR, WP:GNG, and WP:NACADEMIC. The strongest new evidence is a 2021 peer-reviewed review in the Journal of American History (Nancy Beck Young, University of Houston, DOI) that frames my book East Texas Troubles (University of Oklahoma Press, 2019) as "an exception that historians must contemplate" — direct third-party language of the type Wikipedia editors look for.

Notability foundation in one paragraph:

• WP:AUTHOR #3 pass: two university-press books (East Texas Troubles, University of Oklahoma Press, 2019; Palmito Ranch, Texas A&M University Press, 2018), two UNT Press anthology chapters, and research-assistant / photographer / named-dedicatee credit on James L. Haley's Captive Paradise (St. Martin's Press, 2014), which was reviewed in the NYT Book Review, WSJ, and elsewhere.
• WP:AUTHOR #2 pass: the JAH review linked above.
• WP:AUTHOR #4 pass: historical consultant on the 2019 Netflix film The Highwaymen; expert contributor to FoxNation's Outlaws & Lawmen (Warm Springs Productions, 2024–, host Sean Hannity); curator on the "Tejanos at the Alamo" exhibit (2013–2014); 2026 Larry McNeill Research Fellowship recipient (Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, via TSHA).
• WP:GNG pass: 11+ August 2026 national-media appearances in a single news cycle regarding the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, including The Ingraham Angle (twice), New York Post, Fox News Digital, Newsmax, and India's Economic Times.

The full packet — with every reference, direct URLs, Wikidata Q-numbers for every publication, and the neutral draft — is ready to share whenever (or if) you'd like to look.
