editI Just wanted to say, that in the following book: Siegel, Norbert: Geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede hinsichtlich Häufigkeit und thematischer Inhalte bei Toilettengraffiti; Institut für Graffiti-Forschung; Wien; 1992 The missing citation is given on Page 44 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.57.199.103 (talk) 09:55, August 20, 2007 (UTC)
Taboo on his scatalogy
editI question the wording abt "American publishers", in light of the following:
- Allen Walker Read's paper in American Speech 9:4 (1934). This is something to begin with. According to Read, _fuck_ is cognate with Latin _pungere_ 'to knock, strike'. Formally & semantically, this is more probable than not.

It seems he could say some of it, among scholars, before the French edition, even if an American edition of the book was not feasible.

Funk & Wagnalls
editIs it worth noting that he was the chairman of the editorial board of the 1964 Funk & Wagnalls? I can provide further detail if someone thinks that fact is relevant to the article. (BTW, one of the best opening sentences of any Wikipedia article I have encountered!) -- Cimon Avaro; on a pogostick. (talk) 00:44, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
