editThis should not be a separate article, we know very little about Allison Taylor, what we know should be in 24 (season 7) at least until airing starts. --Morten LJ (talk) 09:51, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Allison Taylor is a 19-year-old collegiate gymnast. (www.allisontaylor.us) Allison Taylor is also a designer of a clothing line. Allison Taylor is a company (www.allisontaylor.com). Allison Taylor is a business consultant and expert on subconscious strategies. (www.allisontaylor.net). ALL these people have heartbeats and wikipedia is featuring a fictional character?? This listing is either incomplete or should link. Veryfewnamesleft (talk) 04:19, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
political party
editI think it is a safe bet that Taylor is a Republican because it was mentioned in Redemption that she defeated Noah Daniels in the election, who was Wayne Palmer's Vice President, and Wayne Was David Palmer's son, who we know was a Democrat. Should this be mentioned in the article? Something like, "It is assumed that Allison Taylor is a Republican because,..." and then list the reasons I have above? Crd721 (talk) 10:14, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- Wayne Palmer, of course, was David Palmer's brother, not son. But to the main point . . . I don't recall the dialogue in Redemption specifying that Taylor defeated Daniels in the general election. Couldn't she have beaten him in the Democratic primary? (I'll admit I wasn't paying super-close attention to those lines, so it's entirely possible that I missed something.) But even if it was in the general election, is it really a foregone conclusion that Daniels is a Democrat, just because Wayne Palmer (presumably) was? Joe Lieberman very nearly wound up running with John McCain in this last election, despite the fact that Lieberman is a registered Democrat. (Even though he had to go outside the Democratic Party to secure his re-election in 2006, he has confirmed more than once that his personal voter registration is as a Democrat and that he has no current plans to change that.)
- Wouldn't Noah have been considered a Democrat President since he would've been on the Democratic Ticket in the election where Wayne Palmer became President? And since Noah was an incumbent eligible for reelection, wouldn't his party not have a primary? 216.154.22.61 (talk) 22:59, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- The sentence currently in the article does say that it's "presumed" Taylor is a Republican, rather than stating it flatly, which is good. But as currently worded, the sentence still seems to take for granted that Daniels is a Democrat, even though I think that that too is really only a presumption. 12.155.58.181 (talk) 02:48, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Or '24' has totally gone off the deep end into absurdist fiction, and Taylor is, in fact, a 3rd party candidate. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh man, that'll be the day.President David Palmer (talk) 01:57, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Well that proves it we have no idea if she was a member of a party and if so which party.--Lucy-marie (talk) 02:06, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
But it is still most likely she is a republican so shouldnt that be put back in? Crd721 (talk) 11:27, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Taylor's party affiliation has been debated among 24 fans and likely will be until it's actually made clear (if that ever happens). I say we just leave it at that and not try to add something that has not been mentioned on the show. This is an encyclopedia, not a forum. Dipper3 (talk) 00:56, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
I say we don't. Only David Palmer's affiliation has been made clear and it's improbable the affiliation of Taylor will be disclosed. It's highly unlikely that the producers of this series would make up such complicated scenarios as a 3rd party candidate and concerning Taylor beting Daniels in the primary, the user above was right, Daniels was an incumbent eligible for reelection and his party wouldn't have a primary. And there is no concievable way that the Wayne Palmer administration was Republican since his brother was Republican. TV series just aren't that complicated, they show the general not the particular (and it actualy makes sense for Charles logan to be Republican). So I say that we keep the wording that it's "presumed" Taylor is a Republican. Otherwise we'd have to delete the presumed party affiliation from all other 24 Presidents except David Palmer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.77.239.121 (talk) 02:20, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
None of the articles on any of the presidents other than David Palmer indicate party affiliation. 66.230.115.77 (talk) 06:29, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
This source, which is in the backyard of the show's producers, claims straight up that Taylor is a Republican, from California, so presumably a RINO. Just as well, Daniels was probaly a DINO. [[1]] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.77.239.121 (talk) 02:37, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
President Taylor's political affiliation is never mentioned in the series, nor is mentioned by the producers. It can be assumed that such information is intentionally left out so that it can be left to the viewer's imagination. An encyclopedia article should not try to imply things. Wikipedia's policy on a neutral point of view would require that arguments be presented for both possibilities regarding her partisan affiliation.
Correction: David is Wayne's older brother.
editJust to correct the previous statement. David Palmer is Wayne's brother. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jcsadian (talk • contribs) 00:35, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
