Hi, I'm not sure what has happened here, but there are banners all over the place and the editors who placed them haven't explained what they believe the key issues are beyond neutrality and hinting darkly that someone who is a 'major contributor' is involved with the company. I have tracked back and can't see who they mean. I did some extensive work on Ally Capellino – bringing it up to standard on refs, etc, clearly evident from page history. I have no connection whatsoever with the brand. You will even find a note from me to the page's creator recommending a way to contact Ally Capellino and ask for an image and logo to improve the page – again all pretty transparent. Please could we start a debate here so the problem the editors say they have found can be clarified and fixed. Many thanks. Libby norman (talk) 15:00, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks User talk:Orangemike, but I can't see where the user above you mention has said this – she doesn't appear to have edited the article if you look back at its history, in which case it's merely a common misconception that companies have that they 'own' their page...and we quickly put them right about that. To her credit, she has declared an interest above and that suggests we should assume good faith WP:AGF. As to the lede quote you mention, it is from an article in The Guardian and I put it in there. It is an actual quote from a reliable neutral source that you can check quite easily via the references. I didn't put it in randomly but because it's a succinct way of explaining the historic background (talking about the '80s and '90s before company went down/reformed) and it is also a succcinct description of the company's fashion positioning then ('sensible and stylish').
