Removed text
editI've removed most of the text formerly at this article- it is a reproduction of material appearing on this site. Unable to establish whether the wiki article or the ext site has the priority, but given the wiki article appeared mostly intact, suspect copyvio. I suppose it's possible that the article's creator (coincidentally now banned for 1 year for another matter) and the website's author are one and the same, though if so it's not indicated anywhere. In any case, according to an early version of this article, the text only reproduces the contents of signage at the site, supposedly written by INAH.
Either way, this doesn't seem appropriate content (and what's more some of the claims seem rather dubious). Needs to be re-researched and written from scratch.--cjllw ʘ TALK 08:43, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
New Attempt
editI have writen the article in Spanish Altavista (Nayarit), with text translated from the source page and author. Then retranslated that text back to english. Please confirm this is OK. While at it, I need the format to set up site boxes (with relevant information), can do it in spanish, but unable to add to english articles.Thanks--Raúl Gutiérrez (talk) 00:07, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Before writing the article did extensive research, could not find any INAH references.--Raúl Gutiérrez (talk) 00:26, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
dating error re: Tecoxquin culture
editThe article states, "Tecoxquin (Tequectequi) native culture dating from approximately 2000 BC to 2300 BCE.[2]" BC and BCE are equivalent, so this date makes no sense. I was unable to access the source cited in the footnote. The date needs correction.
Coordinate error
edit{{geodata-check}}
The following coordinate fixes are needed for Altavista petroglhyph 21° 5' 29.57" N 105° 9' 59.85" W
—{{{1}}}
- Done, though I've rounded the rather overprecise coordinates you've given above. Checked by means of the map here. (The coordinates that were previously in the article were for a location in the ocean.) Deor (talk) 12:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC)
