Amadou Bâ → Amadou Bâ (politician, born 1892) – Just created Amadou Ba (disambiguation), and there is potential for confusion Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:15, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- This is a good move. Furius (talk) Furius (talk) 10:34, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

- Support per nom, move Amadou Ba (disambiguation) to base name.--Ortizesp (talk) 18:42, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, In ictu oculi and Ortizesp and likewise support Amadou Ba (disambiguation) → Amadou Ba, unless consensus develops that prime minister Amadou Ba (politician, born 1961) is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Since some of the names listed upon the Amadou Ba (disambiguation) page are rendered as Amadou Ba and others are rendered as Amadou Bâ, with the analogous nomination Amadou Ba → Amadou Ba (politician, born 1961) listed at Talk:Amadou Ba#Requested move 28 November 2022, it may be worth noting that there are two other active nominations in which the sole WP:SMALLDIFFERENCES are accents and diacritics — Christian Gonzalez versus Christian González at Talk:Christian Gonzalez#Requested move 24 November 2022 and Tamas versus Tamás at Talk:Tamás (name)#Requested move 22 November 2022. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:57, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
- Comment - thanks for all the input. I was wondering about the diacritics, but as this is English Wikipedia and most people will be using an English keyboard, it seems like common sense to direct the variations to the same page. Also, many sources often leave out diacritics on foreign words or names. Ba (surname) includes both variants (and Bah), although it lists them separately. I also wondered about the suffixes, but ended up making them both politicians on the grounds that we don't know how long the current prime minister will remain prime minister (could be 10 years, but he's only been there a few months so far). The PM might be primary topic technically, but I have just fixed a few incorrect links targeting that page, and having a look at incoming links, most of them are from the same template. I feel it would be safer to not have a primary topic on this one. There's just too much potential for future error and confusion.
