Legitimacy

edit

This entire entry seems to have been written by the same person, and previous attempts from other contributors to clean it up have all been reversed. The relevance of the page is dubious, to say the least: browsing the list of sources used, as well as a Google search on "Amit Ray", seem to reveal that all known content has been self-authored on websites where content is crowdsourced. Reading the sections on "Teachings", "Compassionate AI", and "Peace and Humanitarian Work", leave little doubt that this page is entirely maintained for self-promotion. Furthermore, most of the content is written in poor English. At this stage, it seems clear that no encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material. As further shown by the series of edits today, multiple suspicious accounts (NicolaMiller, AndrewNewYork, BettyJacksonNY, LilyDickens, etc.) are used at regular intervals to edit the page and undo corrections. Muttscheck (talk) 17:06, 4 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

The author seems to have consistently created fake content on other platforms such as Medium, under the name Jeff Coleman, to promote his name. Muttscheck (talk) 17:34, 4 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dr. Amit Ray is a well known author, he has many books and contribution. All the pages have relevant references. Hence, this page should not be deleted.

It has the references of the The Times of India, NDTV, , UAE News, Cambridge University Press etc.

The Times of India reference is not an article but a list of three quotes without any journalistic content. I doubt that the NDTV article on "Yoga for weight loss" qualifies as a relevant source for encyclopedic content. Ditto for the Arabian Gazette. This (somewhat creative, I must admit) spam strategy seems to consist in stuffing crowd-sourced citation websites (including WikiQuote, but also this, this, this), so that copywriters use them when looking for quick quotes to illustrate their articles, therefore creating external "references" that the author has been using to support his Wikipedia page. Again, a simple Google search for "Amit Ray" easily shows that this person is not recognized in any of the fields mentioned on the page, and that keeping any encyclopedic content would be absolutely impossible after cleanup. Scientific contribution of Dr. Amit Ray

edit

Hello, I noticed that Dr. Ray's, wiki page is proposed for deletion, which I think not rational. Some cleaning is necessary but not deletion. He is an inspiration for many across the world both in science and spirituality. He has contributed to the development of the Artificial Intelligence for over three decades.

His guiding thoughts on compassionate AI are well-appropriated by many top international authorities such as the by editorial board of the Computer Society of India Special Issue on Deep Learning (Editorial page 4 - Volume 44, Issue 8, November 2020, the Guiding thoughts), and the The 222-page Artificial Intelligence Index Report 2021, Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) center at Stanford.. His words are inspiration for many in many fields of life.

Hence, the page should not be deleted. His contribution should be appreciated and this deletion issue should be closed.

Moreover, the issue was raised by Muttscheck. His account is blocked. His points are not valid. — Preceding MrHoffman365 (talk) 08:07, 7 October 2021 (UTC) comment added by MrHoffman365 Reply
