editIf the London home was built in 1701 how could "previously claimed residents included Catherine of Aragon and William Shakespeare" have lived there??68.161.66.62 (talk) 09:51, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, how could she "study" at the Royal Albert Hall, which is a concert venue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.73.120.63 (talk) 16:57, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Staunch Conservative etc etc - Wrong kind of Republicanism - UK not same as US
editThe line "Lee was a staunch Conservative who said her views coincided with those of Winston Churchill" had previously included a reference to 'Republicanism'. This reference was totally wrong since a Republican in the British sense of the word would be completely at odds with what Churchill (or Thatcher) and any other Tory Party follower would observe, i.e. the ardent support of the monarchy. I suspect the 'republican' theme mentioned was meant in connection to the US equivalent of the Conservative Party (UK), i.e., the Republican Party (United States). A 'republican' in the UK would almost be regarded as an 'anarchist' if you catch my drift.
UK Conservative ≠ British Republican
editThe above unsigned comment is absolutely right -- a British republican is almost certainly not going to be a Conservative. Quis separabit? 19:43, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
While it's true that a Churchillian member of the Conservative Party was unlikely to want to do away with the institution of the Monarchy, that doesn't necessarily mean that they would be any sort of "anarchist". There are plenty of non-Monarchies around the world that are in no way "anarchist". Indeed many are conservative. Artwest57 (talk) 23:44, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
