editI've created a basic stub with few links. Feel free to expand it - I'll surely work on it, but I'm not expert in that area. He is one of the very few really notable living people in the Czech Republic, IMO. --Vejvančický (talk) 21:00, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
queries etc
editHi Antonin. One to start with: "scientific aspirant" - is this a student? Haploidavey (talk) 15:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- re:I think that correct English translation is "candidate". (My dictionary allows also "aspirant", but I supposed problem with that term). --Vejvančický (talk) 15:39, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm... are you sure that's not "undergraduate?" In Britain, it would make sense for a graduate student to take a post as research assistant while working on an MA. Regards! Haploidavey (talk) 15:43, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- re: I think, that your correct and elegant solution is sufficient. It's problematic to compare terms from Eastern and Western European academic world forty years ago. I was helpless with that explanation... --Vejvančický (talk) 14:09, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Nucleid Acids Department: spelled thus? Haploidavey (talk) 16:08, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- re: Fixed; added official title from web source. Than you for noticing. --Vejvančický (talk) 14:09, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- From 1960 he trained at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB) of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Prague and since 1963 has been a researcher there.
Is he still a researcher there,or did he leave? Haploidavey (talk) 15:57, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- re: Yes, Holý is still a researcher at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. He spent there whole his career, as far as I know. --Vejvančický (talk) 14:09, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answers. You're doing great work, and delays in answering are really no problem at all... Haploidavey (talk) 14:15, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
