there is no Vedic tribe called "Anus". I assume it is supposed to refer to Anu "non-Aryan", Ānu "man" or Ānava "foreign man". The reference on Sudas,

In RV 7.6.3-5, Sudas defeats the Anus and Druhyus with the help of Agni: “Agni assailed repeatedly those Dasyus and from the east turned the unholy ones to the west.”

is inexistent (and I removed it). Both this article and Sudas were due to Rayfield (talk · contribs) who has a history of inserting invented or misattributed information on ancient India. dab (ᛏ) 19:45, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Dab, please don't make personal attacks and assume good faith. I didn't say that you invented information either when you wrote "RV 9.57.3 and RV 6.20.8 mention ibhas, a term meaning "servant, domestics, household", but in later Sanskrit also "elephant".[1] while not mentioning other translations of ibha, hastin and similar words.

Griffith translates this as:

The foolish, faithless, rudely-speaking niggards, without belief or sacrifice or worship,-

Far far sway hath Agni chased those Dasytis, and, in the cast, hath turned the godless westward.

The translation included was of Kazanas (A new date for the Rgveda), but maybe it would have been better to use the better known but older Griffith translation. --Rayfield 20:17, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
