Unclear sentence
editFrom the article: "Because the property Alpenglow sits on, and since it predates the creation of Chugach State Park, the resort is still here today."
I'm not at all sure what this sentence means. How does the property Alpenglow sits on cause the resort to still be around today? What is the relationship between Alpenglow and the state park? Can someone who knows more about the topic clarify? Kuribosshoe 06:34, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure myself, actually, but I think what it means is that it's inside the state park, but the fact that it was there before the park was established allows it to exist. I can't see how it's even remotely relevant in any case, so it's gone. —Zero Gravitas 18:01, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Dubious statement
editSources differ slightly, but generally agree that Muktuk Marston came to Alaska in 1941. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RadioKAOS (talk • contribs) 02:52, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- To expand upon this: Robert Atwood, in his autobiography, states that he was the original organizer of the Anchorage Ski Club in 1937. Their facilities were originally located beyond the northeastern edge of Anchorage (at the time), near where the original Alaska Native Medical Center was built in the 1950s. I'm unclear as to the exact location, but it was probably near the present-day intersection of First Avenue and Ingra Street. Muktuk Marston did arrive in Alaska at some later point, and did take charge of the organization as it expanded in its early years. He was credited for not only finding the Arctic Valley location, but recognizing its advantages over other sites the Ski Club was considering.RadioKAOS (talk) 20:34, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Alpenglow at Arctic Valley → Arctic Valley Ski Area – Ski resort was re-branded in 2008 to Arctic Valley, and has used that name in all its public communications since then. See website: arcticvalley.org, FB: facebook.com/skiarctic/, IG: instragram.com/arcticvalley This fulfills reason #2 on the list of moving pages: The subject of the arcticle has changed its name and the new name has come into majority use. 66.58.155.252 (talk) 19:32, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
