Notability?
editThere are zillions of secondary school articles on WP - all this needs is a bit of fleshing-out, not a complete removal from the site.--TN | ! 23:55, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Arden School. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20110525203009/http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxedu_providers/full/(urn)/104111 to http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxedu_providers/full/(urn)/104111
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}

Renaming page?
editShouldn't the page be renamed to simply "Arden" or "Arden Academy" given it's academy status? The page is updated to reflect this, but the title is not. EvanM2015 (talk) 22:47, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Updates on incorrectly referenced sections
edit@Ohnoitsjamie: I've added a proper reference about the COVID thing which should be sufficient, my original claim cannot be supported by any documents I can find, only private emails and first hand experience! Not trying to be rude here, how would you suggest citing that a school does not exist? I'm wondering what kind of evidence would be sufficient for this. The reference linked correctly uses the future tense which would indicate it's not done yet. I've managed to dig up these two bits, do you think this is sufficient? https://www.solihull.gov.uk/Planning-and-building-control/Local-Plan-Review https://www.arden.solihull.sch.uk/new-arden-academy/
Thanks in advance, Evan

- We don't make exceptions for schools or anything else. Per our verifiability policy, everything in Wikipedia must be supported by a reliable source, period. OhNoitsJamie Talk 23:24, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Ohnoitsjamie: Hi, your response seems to have not answered any of the questions in the message you're replying to, could you please get back to me on that? Regarding the secondary source issue, if we are not allowing referencing to the school website we should be consistent in this policy and remove a significant amount of the page, a majority of the references link directly to the Arden website and given the relatively small significance of the school it will be impossible to find secondary sources for a lot of it. I'm not trying to be snarky but this should be enforced across the page if so. EvanM2015 (talk) 23:45, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- So then remove any info you don't think is sourced properly. The school's own website is fine as a source for some things (i.e., current principal, etc), but correspondence from the school to support the COVID bit is pushing it. Besides, we don't need that sort of routine,trivial detail on school articles. OhNoitsJamie Talk 23:54, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Ohnoitsjamie: Hi, apologies for this again, but you still have not answered any of the questions from my original comment. I will take this as indifference and will be adding re-adding the excerpts with the potential references I provided here. In terms of the COVID details, I personally see it as quite major. Someone else added the previous section about COVID and given that the effects were more or less the same, I thought it might be relevent. I'm unsure where the line is for what is and isn't appropriate to source from the school but will continue to work on this page to the best of my understanding. Since I am new to wikipedia I try to match the level of detail provided by the page previously, which I found to be quite a lot. Thanks, Evan. EvanM2015 (talk) 00:03, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- What exactly is your question? Whether the two links above are sufficient to source the sentence I removed about students being sent home due to Covid outbreaks? I don't see anything about Covid on those pages. Most of this page should be gutted as there are no sources to support the statements. I found one for the uniform policy, and added markup indicating where other sources are needed. As to "what kind of evidence would be sufficient," we have a lot of info on our WP:RS policy page.
