ArtuxArtush – Per WP:COMMONNAME. Regardless of the official name, Artush has been and still is the common name. It is also more sensical as an English name, as "Artux" is meant to be pronounced "ar-TUUSH", a relic of a failed Uyghur transliteration system from the previous century (Uyghur New Script) that borrowed from Mandarin pinyin. See Google Ngrams. To account for the possibility that the results are skewed by the rare Turkic language name Artush, here are Google Books search results, both searches with "China" included in the search: Artush has 2,830 results on Google Books, while Artux has 1,660. • Support. It does seem like the English common name. Just a cursory examination of some of the hits (there aren't really that many), "Artush" often stands alone, whereas "Artux" always seems to have the clarification "Artush". Walrasiad (talk) 00:08, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
