Opinion on storyline/setting
- cool, you get to kill Christians in this game? Finally. I can't wait for them to start complaining. hahahahahaha.
What have people said about this game? I mean, you basically play a member of a medieval terrorist organization who kill the Europeans who went to the Middle East. I'd follow closely this game might anger some people.
- As a student of the Middle Ages, I am somewhat annoyed with the setting and how everything looks like it's going to be portrayed... but not a whole lot of commentary on this from gamers, as far as I've seen. JamesMcCloud129 01:56, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- In the end its still just a video game, just lighten up and enjoy the ride. You also have to remember the unrevealed sci fi elements so things arent going to be all that accurate ~Corpse 11:27, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's true. We won't know how the story plays out until the game is released anyway. JamesMcCloud129 18:55, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- You also have to relize they are using historical documents and such to make the game seem as historically accurate as possible so unless their sources are wrong you cant get mad at the developers for making the game accurate based on authentic documentation FuzionZero 15:51, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm actually more annoyed at the typical Hollywood "eeeevil Crusaders" view that seems to be hashed out here. I don't know much about the specific details... although I do know that the leaders of the 3rd Crusade weren't assassinated! JamesMcCloud129 23:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, you should know that they consulted several historians regarding in this game, including an expert from Oxford. They all praised the game's authenticity.
- But didn't the Assassins mainly target other Muslims who regarded them as heretical?
- They targeted everyone. They didn't focus on Muslims or Christians specifically.68.161.53.160 11:51, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
This should be in a forum for the game, not on a wikipedia talk page. J-stan Talk 14:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Other platforms?
The "confirmed" anouncement of Assassains Creed for the Xbox 360 is a complete lie by a kid I know. I will delete the comment now. Ostiks
- "Assassin's Creed" has been announced ONLY for the Playstation 3 and the "Assassin's Creed" main website only lists Playstation 3 as their launch platform. The comment saying it was announced for Xbox 360 will now be deleted. StealthHit06 16:44, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
NB: dudes assasins creed was played on the 360 at a demo showing of the game just type assassins creed in google video and the producer of the game playes it on the 360 to show u the game so i believe is coming out on the 360 also
- It's been announced only on the PS3, but X360 is heavily hinted. Mentioning the possibility might be ok, but I suggest we wait until it's actually confirmed. Btw, it still says the article is in the "Xbox 360 games" category.
- The only thing that heavily hints toward an Xbox 360 release is the leaked list of games from Ubisoft. That was back in March and hasn't been acknowledged in any way since then. For now, it's churning in the rumor mills, and until launch or official word from Ubisoft themselves, that's where it's going to stay. StealthHit06 21:33, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Not only does rumors go around about a 360 release, but also a PC release. A gamesprogram in the Netherlands who were at the E3 convention said it will allmost certainly come to PC and Xbox 360 to. But yeah we should wait indeed -Jort227 12:41, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- This have almost been confrimed on the 360 come just add it User:jimmy93211 26 june 6:10PM GMT
- Almost confirmed? What kind of backwards logic is this? Pending an official confirmation, the article will only state about ps3 release. End of discussion. Tani unit 17:18, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Dude you are mental!lol I will come back here in a week and add it on my self when it has been confrimed. Seems like a waste of time but if you really want to be pointless. user:jimmy93211 26 june 11:51PM GMT
- Be my guest, just be sure to provide a link to Ubi's site and one or two major gaming resources like IGN or Gamespot. Tani unit 00:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- That's assuming it has been confirmed in a week's time. StealthHit06 18:15, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- I guess the guy has l33t premonition powers or something. Tani unit 19:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- I will be deleting the "Rumored Release" section. It's heavily POV and also irrelevent. Wikipedia is about what we know and what is fact, not what we hope is true and what we want to express as possible fact. StealthHit06 21:03, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- In response to the source of multiplatform news, here is one article: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/26/the-mystery-of-assassins-creeds-exclusivity/ Additionally, the hardware used to show the demo at E3 was an Xbox 360, and this information has been widely available since the release. Basically, Sony paid Ubisoft to not give any mention or advertisement to the Xbox 360 version of the game, although they're still making it. -Maikero 08:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- It has been denied on the Ubi forums, that this game will come to Xbox 360 and PC. I can't find the official thread so soon, but here is the official quote: Just reopened this to give an official response: Ubisoft have confirmed no such thing. Assassin's Creed will come on PlayStation 3 and at this time, no other platform has been confirmed." Therefore I deleted the PC and Xbox 360 from the platforms. I think we should definatelly wait for an official announcement! -Jort227 12:57, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Joystiq continues to throw newsposts onto the rumor mill: http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/04/rumor-assassins-confirmed-for-360-and-pc/ Still no official word from ubi though. Theroachman 03:40, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
That is ENOUGH people. Stop adding Xbox 360 as one of the release platforms. It doesn't matter what is being churned in the rumor mills; until it is officially announced by Ubisoft themselves, then you can add the correct platforms. Leaked memos and rumor articles from reputable websites do not count as official Ubisoft confirmation. StealthHit06 18:52, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
YOU PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS! THE GAME IS GOING TO BE ON THE 360! IT WAS SHOWN ON THE DEMO AND IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF! AND IF YOU STILL DON'T BELIEVE IT THAN WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? LOOK IN OXM! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE AND ACCEPT IT! IT IS ON 360!--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 18:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC) It will be released on the 360. I watched it played live at the E3 Microsoft Press Conference.
IGN confirmed it here. J-stan Talk 14:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
ENGINE REVEALED
I have changed the engine to Scimitar Engine, as that has been confirmed by 1up at this year's Leipzig Games Convention. The engine is also going to be used in a new game. Jiei 23:23, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Its final!
Yepi, after all that arguing it has finally been confirmed but the OXM(Official Xbox Magizine) [1] Now xbox 360 and PS3 fanboys can live in peace, nearly. --Jimmy93211 11:48, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Really? Than why were you linking to CVG instead of OXM, and why is CVG the only one who seems to know about this? Just another rumor.
edit: Joystiq links to the CVG article as well, but again, the only source that says this is CVG. Let's wait for news from IGN and Gamespot. Tani unit 13:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I believe it is OXM's section on CVG? Here is OXm's page for it:
I don't mind wait if you want. Just seems pointless. --Jimmy93211 17:36, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Xbox 360, PC, Linux, and Mac
If the PC, Linux, and Mac versions of the game are going to be listed, then I believe it is only fair to list the Xbox 360 version with them; I mean, fair is fair. Midway CEO David Zucker clearly announced that there would be a PC version, an Xbox 360 version and a Playstaton 3 version of Unreal Tournament 2007; and he listed them in that order! Here is a second hyperlink that shows this--in addition to the E3 Interview hyperlink that is already in this article: http://www.e3insider.com/news/?articleID=0JM07A1IWI
The three versions that absolutely should be here are PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3--in that order. The Mac and Linux versions are the ones that should arguably not be listed according to Wikipedia truth standards. Thank you for your time. Sincerely--mike_mgoblue
Parkour
Added Parkour to features since producer Jade Raymond mentioned this in a video interview with Gametrailers.com. For confirmation go here: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?fs=1&id=2581 or more specifically: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=10528&type=mov&pl=game (note: 46 MB)
I also added Parkour under Categories because it's one of the more important aspects of the game. Tom F 22:39, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Have we got a sony fanboy here?
It seems strange that everytime it is mentioned that this game Had or will have something to de with microsoft or the xbox it is removed with out an explanation. Like the details with it being shown at an old E3 with microsoft - Romoved no question- It being listed as rumoured on the xbox 360 - Removed no question. What is going on? Even facts are being removed, I think we have some stuck up fanboy going crazy.Jimmy93211 14:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Funny, I'm stil waiting for those officiial announcements of game being multiplatform. I don't think you want to start an argument of who the real fanboy is here.
Edit: btw, I don't know who removed the lines about the game running on 360 hardware or anything of the sort, if they are sourced they should be put back in. I only remove release platforms other then ps3 (we had 360, pc and even wii listed plenty of times, all without a shred of evidence other then rumores that have yet to be substantiatied. Tani unit 21:02, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Yeah I've heard it being for the Wii, just a "watered down" version of AC though. Tom F 22:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Unreal Engine 3
It says that Assassin's Creed uses a Proprietary engine, but the Unreal Engine page says it uses the Unreal Engine 3 (look under the Announced projects section of UE3). Perhaps this should be looked into and cleared up? Luckless666 14:54, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Officially no longer exclusive
It's finally official: Assassin's Creed is no longer exclusive to the PS3 [3], as reported by Ubisoft.--TBCTaLk?!? 06:31, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Also IGN: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/729/729877p1.html Smile Lee 08:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for that IGN link. The GameSpot one didn't confirm if it would ship along with the PS3 version. The main body of the article still needs some cleaning up to do in regards to this subject. I'll see if I can't remove some of the out of date information from the article. StealthHit06 18:33, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Better on 360!
Hey I think we should had this. The producer said it will have better AI. Jimmy93211 10:43, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
No it isn't Heres the Source:http://www.gamercc.com/index.php?page=showarticle&id=6266
According to Producer Jade, the Xbox 360's controller, since it has the rumble, will be used in the game. Altar can lose his grip when climbing. when it rumbles more, Altar is closer to losing his grip and falling. The PS3 has no rumble feature.
360 has better graphics also.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 22:19, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Take your fanboyism elsewhere! Besides that can be counterd by saying that the PS3 has alot more processing power than the 360. The graphics are roughly the same with whatever game being the lead development platform having better graphics. Miseryrevived 20:46, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
You can say the PS3 has more processing power than the 360 but you'd be lying. The only thing special about the PS3 is the Blue-ray.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 13:31, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Sorry Gundor Twintle Fluffy, but it is true, the ps3's cell processor has 8 cores running at 3.2Mhz, whereas the 360 only has 3 cores working at 3.2Ghz. Also, the cell can work with the rsx to achieve DX10 like graphics, the ps3 has twice the speed in floating point calculations and is therefore obviously better in raw processing. Shadowfyre 19:00, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- Any chance we can keep these kind of debates out of wikipedia or move it to the ps3 discussion page. Please try and keep it in relation to topics only related to the game. Plenty of game forums where you can argue to your hearts content.~Corpse 19:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Release Date
I was browsing around the Xbox game forums and found a thread with a post about reserving a copy of the game. I was sceptical that the guy who wrote it was lying but I found it. Maybe the only one out there but on the EBgames website; there is a section for Assassins creed on the PS3 and Xbox 360 (http://www.ebgames.com/search.asp?Ntk=TitleKeyword&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&Ntt=assassins+creed&N=0&find.x=31&find.y=16&find=Search) should this be considered a reliable source of information that we could add to the release date instead of just Q1 2007? Tom F 22:13, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't think so. Many websites post their own "theoretical" release dates. Until there's an official comment by Ubisoft on it, you should leave the release date alone.
March 2, 2007 for the 360? DarthJango42 01:25, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm removing the release dates for the systems and changing them all to TBA. When Ubisoft says the date, it will be added. --Plankton5005 20:25, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
i thought a couple months ago i saw a post on ign.com that it came out on 4/2/07. this was apparently wrong b/c in the april issue of GameInformer magazine there is only one mention of AC (in the article about Saboteur it mentions it as "upcoming") 69.19.14.28 21:11, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
EB Games as well as Gamestop and the other video game retail stores believe the release date is August 1st, 2007 (Xbox 360). They are accepting reservations for the game.
- they are accepting reservations for the game because that's what they do, they sell reservations for the game. even if they are privy to release date information before the developer or producer announces it publically it's still not offical until the dev or pub does so. all other release dates are, by definition, speculative. Tetracycloide 19:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Whoever added the September 1st release date, is there a source for that because all Ubi has said is their very close to announcing and that probably means its gonna happen at E3 (204.112.153.115 19:36, 27 May 2007 (UTC))
I changed the sentence "the release date was recently announced as..." to remove the word "recently" since it is a relative term, and would be false for anyone reading the article in the far future.
Missing Finger
Who keeps on removing the line about Altair's missing finger? It's fact. According to Jade Raymonds he IS missing a finger in order to make room for the mechanical dagger on his arm.
I forget where I read this (almost certan it came from jade's mouth or on OFFICIAL website.)his finger was also taken off as a initiaition (and the blade) to become one of the higher ranking assassins in the sect.might want to add this
Jade said it in the only Dev. Diary on the website. --Plankton5005 05:29, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
NB:ya he is i agree with this dude his finge wa scut off a an initiation for becoming an assassin just look at any of the videos
Better AI On 360
Removed part about better Ai on 360 due to threading - the IGN article that this came from later retracted this after clarification from Ubisoft that AI will be the same in all versions.
Altair's full name
i found on this link Altair's full name http://ps3.qj.net/category/Assassin-s-Creed/cid/1643 which says and i quote "His full name is Altair Ibn'La-Ahad which roughly translates into "Altair, Son of None." 20:15, 21 November 2006 (UTC) 9:08 22 November 2006
- On this topic, I suggest transliterating "Altair" to "الطيار" in the sentence detailing his name - I'd do it myself, but to be honest I've never edited a wikipedia article before, so I'll just stick to the comments page for now. The suggested transliteration is from Google Translate for "the flyer" but it is the same for just "flyer" as well. I am taking an Arabic class and can vouch for the pronunciation, anyway. I have not seen his name spelled in Arabic on any website based on the game but it doesn't make sense to me to not include the word. Any native Arabic speakers to add some weight to this? 24.16.155.89 06:11, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
haven't heard anyone say his name out loud, but in arabic, it would be pronounced "At-Tair" rather than "Al-Tair." Also, what's this "the flying eagle" bullshit? that sounds sort of cool but at-tair just means the flyer. an-nasr at-tair means "the flying eagle." changing it. 63.26.70.232 08:00, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Battle-axe?
His crossbow doubles as a small battle-axe? I admit that I haven't looked to deep, but I haven't seen anything mentioning this. It also doesn't make much sense to me... Raistlin11325 04:12, 23 January 2007 (UTC) NB:raist, in one of the videos he uses his crossbow as a sorta battle axe, he hits a guy guy with it and pulls him down
- Yes, in the main trailer he uses the crossbow as a small battle axe to pull down an opponent after shooting another with it a split second before. Without doubt the crossbow is a double action weapon. This should be added back in. Esaptonor
- Without a doubt? hardly. i've seen the trailor several times and using the bow to hook an opponent and pull them down hardly qualifies it as being a double action bow + giant heavy bladed weapon like an ax. using it in two different ways simply speaks to the ingenuity of the individual wielding it, it was certainly not designed to be swung like an ax. Tetracycloide 14:16, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, i guess it may not be purposly built to be a battle axe, but it is "without doubt a double action weapon". At least a comment stating how the crossbow appears to be able to be used in multiply ways should be added shoudln't it? Esaptonor 03:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- i think it would be considerably more appropriate to describe the fighting style as similar to the environment navigation style, in that it encourages and depects using tools in a manner other than intended that prove to be quite effective. obviously the crossbow was not designed to be used as an ax or a hook or as anything other than a crossbow but the character uses it for other purposes by adapting it to the situation at hand, much like the style of navigation from walls to rooftops ect. Tetracycloide 19:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well yeah (thats kind of what I was trying to say), I agree with that. But the thought has occured to me that we do not actually know for certain that the fighting system operates like the navigation. Until we know that for certain, I don't know if we should mention anything as potentially big as that. After all, in the brief fighting scene from the in-game footage that was not described, and it wasn't really evident if you watch it. As it already states in the article, the focus was more on "not becoming surrounded, being patient, and waiting for an opening to strike, rather than hacking away offensively." - They didn't mention a situation adapting combat control system. So yeah, this does kind of go against what I was stated before, but its probably not a good idea to mention that as a fact, but perhaps only as speculation from seeing the trailor, or not at all. Esaptonor 08:34, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Aggreed, i was refering to the style of fighting depectied from an asthetic standpoint as opposed to the style of fighting from a user control stand point. clearly the person you are controling would focus on adaptaion and improvisation when they are fighting but you are right to say that how the interface will interpret that from a game controls standpoint is a bit hazy at the moment. Tetracycloide 14:53, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
What the?
"This technologically advanced mechanical dildo is made to retract so that the assassin remains inconspicuous." Lordofchaosiori 06:03, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- That was some vandalism. It's been reverted. Raistlin11325 20:37, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Second Half of 2007?
Who changed the release dates? There's been no confirmation from Ubisoft at all...I'm reverting the changes.
- i think the logic was that since ubisoft has confirmed a 2007 release date and that it is already almost april that it would have to be second half of 2007 to come out this year since the first half is pretty much over. whether or not this would be considered 'official' is up for debate though even though it's clearly the only logical result of a confirmed 2007 release. Tetracycloide 16:42, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
I don't think that the second half of 2007 is "the most logical result". We're still only in march. It's only been the first quarter of the year.
- the first quarter is over (only about a week left) and release dates in the second quarter have been announced. assassin's creed was not among them hince the 'second half of '07.' anyone can take the information we have on the release and come to the conclusion that it will be out some time after june '07 which places it squarely in the second half of '07. that's not to say that we should put that in the article even if it is the logical implication of the information on hand since it has not be explicitly stated by ubisoft yet. Tetracycloide 15:21, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
My thoughts are actually that it might be released in '08 since there has been no announcement on it officially...but, whatever floats your boat. If you think it would be better left as the "second half of 07" then go right ahead and revert it.
on the official site, it states that the game will come out November 2007.

The whole genetic memory thing isn't really a spoiler if something about it was revealed in an interview and the rest is just speculation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.128.226.221 (talk) 02:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC).
Locking the Page
Someone should consider locking this page because there are too many people putting the release date from EB Games as the official one. IT ISN'T.
- locks are usually reserved for serious cases of vandalism, one or two unique editers a day putting up the wrong release date in good faith quailifies as neither serious nor vandalism. Tetracycloide 15:15, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yah. Locking an entire page because 2 people keep changing the release date is overkill. Im new to Wikipedia as an editor but if anything (if possible) just lock the release date portion. If thats not possible then dont bother. Kinda silly to stop all editing over that small detail. - FuzionZero 23:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Well if it is possible to do so, could we lock the release date? I understand what you mean though, I guess I got a little overzealous. My bad.
To the unregistered user: Dont completely delete a discussion and replace it with 1 sentence. Especially when you type in all CAPS and use the word "noob". Locking the page because of some people changing the date is too much. There are plenty of people that patrol this page that willingly revert the dates back. FuzionZero 16:16, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Release Dates
"Dont change release dates. Even looking at the official Assassin's Creed forum they state they dont know the release date so dont change it. FuzionZero 19:20, 24 March 2007 (UTC)"
"I agree don't change the release dates as all dates currently flying around the web are speculation and not official. TomWarren1301 15:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC)"
- People please stop changing the release date. Please go here to the official forum and read where it states the release date is currently unknown.
- Official Assasin's Creed Forum - Stating currently known facts and that the current release date is unknown FuzionZero 03:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
WHOEVER KEEPS ON ADDING THE SEPTEMBER FIRST RELEASE DATE STOP IT!!!! there is NO evidence to support that, just check the assassin's creed website (204.112.153.115 03:07, 29 May 2007 (UTC))
Nintendo DS
I'm adding the DS to the release date. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/assassinscreed/news.html?sid=6168794
but dude gamespot and eb are always posting speculation as fact. also i have a hardf time believing they would bring assassin's to the ds. not the right type (but it would bring more $ for ubi). idk i'll kepp an eye out. 69.19.14.20 02:45, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
- GameSPOT not GameSTOP, there's a difference between the two. GameSpot is a gaming site covering video game news, GameStop is the video game store. GameSpot doesn't post speculations. magiciandude 00:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
Yea, I think you're right. On the Ubisoft site, there's no mention of the DS version. If there will be one...I would imagine it to be similar to Sands of Time on the GBA.

- Also 1st September is a Saturday and games in the UK are generally released on Friday's. TomWarren1301 22:17, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
is it just me or in the Q & A at Ubidays, did Jade Raymond let it slip that Assassin's would be shipped 6 months from now? (december-2007) (142.161.83.16 20:36, 2 June 2007 (UTC))
Christian Mother/Muslim Father
In the Ubidays 07 interview - http://youtube.com/watch?v=OLsIlLGvqfI Jade Raymond says that Altair is the son of a Christian Mother and Muslim Father, though he himself is more spiritual and not religious. I think this would be valid to put in.
Not on Wii?
Can somebody explain to me why this game isn't on Wii cause I'm pretty pissed. --Gundor Twintle Fluffy 21:58, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
This isn't a place for discussion.
First of all, this is the DISCUSSION page. Second, I'm not trying to discuss anything, I just want to know why it isn't on Wii!--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 18:24, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
This page is for discussing the article and changes to the article. It's not a place for asking questions which don't pertain to the article. The fact is, it's not coming out for the Wii, and that's that. It has NOTHING at all to do with the article.
I'm asking a question about the game, and it's platforms. If this article is about the game I feel I'm entitled to ask a question about the game because the article is about the game.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 14:27, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
No, you're not. Your question does nothing to further contribute to the article. Such a question belongs in a forum dedicated to Assassin's Creed, not a Wikipedia discussion page. I don't know how much clearer I can make that.
Okay, then tell me where I'm supposed to find a forum dedicated to assassin's creed.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 12:35, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Take 2 seconds to do a google search...it doesn't take that much difficulty.
Why this game will not be released for the Wii:
1. The controls would be very different. This is why Beautiful Katamari is not being released for the Wii.
2. The graphics wouldn't live up to the Xbox 360 or PS3. For that matter, I don't know how much processing power would be required for all the polygons, but it could be important.
3. UBI probably doesn't want to invest the time in porting this game to the Wii at launch. This doesn't mean it won't be released later, like Scarface and the Godfather were.
Why that didn't make sense to me:
1. The controls are supposed to be different on Wii. That's the point.
2. You're telling me that Wii's graphics can't live up to 360 or PS3 but DS's can. Resident Evil's gamecube graphics mached up to the Xbox's. What's the difference here?
3. It really doesn't take much time and effort to port the game to nintendo.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 14:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

1. The control scheme in this game is not as simple as other games. Being that you press different buttons to control different parts of his body(as stated in the article running towards a wall pressing the "legs" button will cause him jump over it while the "arms" button will cause him to vault it). The Wii's controller is too simple for a detailed control scheme like Assassin's Creed
2. Ummm since when can a DS live up to PS3 or 360 in terms of graphics? The 360's and PS3's graphics arent significantly better than the Wii's but they are still better. I dont think graphics would be that big of problem if they ported the game.
3. It would take more time to port a game to or from the wii than probably anything else. 1 they need to change graphics to fit the capabilities of the system and 2 they need to come up with a whole new control scheme since the Wii relies alot on motion and the 360 has no current motion detection and the PS3's is alot simpler than the Wii's FuzionZero 16:37, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
I'll buy that.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 18:26, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Quote: Resident Evil's gamecube graphics mached up to the Xbox's. What's the difference here?
Maybe its because the Wii is graphically a generation behind the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Compare the graphics on any game that has been released on the PS3 and/or the Xbox 360 that was also on Wii. The difference is apparent, and if you dont notice you must be completely oblivious. The Wii's graphics do not match up to Xbox 360's or PS3's at all.
I wouldn't say that the Wii's graphics don't match up at all. The Wii's power is about half of the power of the 360. Still it's nowhere near as good as the 360 or the PS3.--Kondrayus 22:26, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
New Release Date
http://kotaku.com/gaming/breaking/assassins-creed-hits-this-nov-266779.php http://ps3.ign.com/articles/794/794743p1.html
Seems like it's November. Does this count as official?
- Kotoku definitely not, but IGN on the other hand as much as the crew up is still pretty good. I would wait for something on the UBI web site, but i don't mind if everyone here says it's cool.
- actually never mind streight from assassinscreed.com:
"Friday 06.08.07 New Assassin's Creed Launch Information Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced the worldwide launch for the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed™ will be November 2007.
Hit the jump for all the juicy details"
removed some stuff
I removed somestuff about the background image having a 'CNO' image and stars etc - that (and the reference provided) were/are bullshit (apologies) - thanks however to the ones wo have helped write this article - very interesting and informative - 87.102.74.102 17:30, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
You really shouldn't have though. The reference to the CNO image is actually not "bullshit" simply because you say it is. It does carry some weight to it, therefore, it should be left in the article.
- i'm re adding it to the article ~Corpse 11:43, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello, sorry - I should have been clearer - I re- removed this
"Further proof for the genetic memory plot can be found in the storyline developer diary, where at one point in the background a genetic structure fades in briefly and then fades out quickly. An image of this structure is to the right, which has had its brightness and contrast modified to make the structure more visible. The structure depicted is CNO a type of memory plasma[1][2] and is one of two fusion reactions by which stars convert hydrogen to helium as a key part of Stellar evolution, this could be a clue relating to Altair's name in relation to a star of the same name. This same structure is also visible at the end of the UbiDays 2007 trailer for the game."
The reason I removed it is:
- The structure shown is not a real chemical structure.
- (so as it stands) It is not a type of memory plasma
- The CNO cycle has no relation to the fusion reactions that convert H to He in stars.
- So the structure has no relationship to stars.
Also the paragraph might count as original research. (as might the enhanced image - is their a link that explains more?)
If this is relevant to the plot it would need rewriting - I'm sure that the background image is somehow relevant (possibly to future parts in this trilogy?) but at present there doesn't seem to be any info on that?
As an alternative I'd suggest something like this (would this be ok?)
"A faint background image of a chemical like structure appears in (a trailer?), the structure contains Carbon, Nitrogen, and Oxygen atoms and may be related the the genetic memory plot that underlies this new series of games" 83.100.255.93 12:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Yea I guess something like that would be fine, just as long as it's mentioned since it's more than just speculation. 68.161.101.125 11:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Removed any info on DS Version
There was a little blurb in the article regarding the DS Version being released alongside the console versions. So far, we've only heard one mention of a potential DS Version and in the recent press release by Ubi they made no mention of anything other than a PS3, PC, and X360 release. 68.161.83.217 11:32, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm not even sure if they will do a DS version.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 12:05, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Well that's what I meant. There were rumours in the past of a possible DS version. I think that's all they were, rumours. 68.161.83.217 16:30, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
November 9th???
Could someone provide a link for the November 9th release being confirmed? If not then we should get rid of the November 9th release data and just leave it as November. 68.161.83.217 11:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
In yesterday's interview with Gamespot, Jade said that they don't have a specific day for release yet. Thus, the Nov. 9th date is just speculation. 68.161.107.165 11:23, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Cover Image
I tried adding the PS3 box cover pic side by side with the Xbox version but cannot seem to get both images to display. Right now it only shows the PS3 version. It'd be nice if someone could get both images on there.
- Wikipedia does not need 2 cover images. The fair use guidelines on Wikipedia make this pretty clear - Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria#3. If the designs were radically different, then its possible to argue for multiple box arts. - hahnchen 15:45, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Quote
I don't know how to add in references, but here's the link to the quote that I added into the trivia section from the founder of the Hashshashin. http://www.disinfo.com/archive/pages/dossier/id985/pg1/index.html
- Hi - can you describe the part were the quote ""Nothing is true. Everything is permissable." is used to describe the gameplay - the nearest part I can find is "everything is interactive" which would make it a word-play on the quote eg "nothing is ornamental, everything is interactive" or something like that - please clarify, thank you.87.102.47.93 20:14, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
It's been heavily hyped as the "motto" of Assassin's Creed. http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=85121 Take a look at what Jade Raymond says.68.161.107.165 02:44, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- ok I've added that as a link.
Could you add the link that proves that the quote is attributed to the founder of the Hashashin that I listed before? http://www.disinfo.com/archive/pages/dossier/id985/pg1/index.html68.161.107.165 00:01, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- There is a link to that persons wiki biography - so is it really necessary? It might be better to add that well known quote to that page?
Yea...I think you're right on that. 68.161.107.165 14:58, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
PEGI Rating
It is confirmed to be a PEGI 18+ rating, but i cannot find a solid citation, 'twas in an email from ubisoft. anyone got one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lordgod666 (talk • contribs) 12:31, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Add: "In one city, you have 60. And multiply that times three, plus there are 420 different flags to be found and 60 Templar Knights to kill. There's a lot of stuff." - Patrice Desilets —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.116.232.44 (talk) 00:03, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
This good enough? [4]
November 9
There are two reliable and respected sources (Eurogamer and Joystiq) stating that its release is November 9. Indeed, the Eurogamer article states they were contacted by Ubisoft because the dates for Haze were incorrect. Wouldn't Ubisoft also have told them if Assassin's Creed was incorrect? As long as the sources are there, and remain Nov 9, that's what the release date should be. If Ubisoft come out and say it's not November 9, and someone can provide a source, that's fine, but at the moment, Eurogamer and Joystiq are what we have to go on. Fin©™ 23:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
The problem is, they're not Ubisoft. They can say whatever they like, but it doesn't make it fact. Yesterday at E3 Jade Raymond stated that they don't have a finalized release date yet. Thus, that's what we have to go on, and not rumours.68.161.107.165 02:41, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Play.com uses November 9th as the UK release date. That's three reliable sources. I think it's enough to put in the article.
Fair use rationale for Image:AC.jpg
Image:AC.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Release Date
[5] says this game is out on September 7... true or not?

Freeroam?
on assassinscreed.com it states the release date is november 14 Is this game freeroam or a level system?
- I believe it is level based, as there are three cities, but within the level, it is freeroam. J-stan Talk 02:33, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it probably is. Nine assassinations = nine levels, with free-roam throughout the city during each hit. --Alas, Babylon 05:27, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
I know for a fact you can "leave" a city, and there is an interment "journey" level that leads to, acre, Damascus,Jerusalem, and the assassin stronghold of the, the "travel" level, is from what i have seen....Large, like woah large, and it definetly requires a horse.
I believe you can gain upgrades, but to purchase/apply them you have to return to the stronghold, there is also the neccesity to gather something from one city and travel to another.
It in no way staples you to any said city at any time, even if your "hit" is in Damascus, there is nothing to stop you from riding your horse anywhere the hell you please.
Well, yeah, we saw that in that very first game-play demo, when our “hitman” rode a horse into… Acre, wasn’t it? And, dude chill out. It’s like you took a moral offense to a simple mistake, jeez. --Alas, Babylon 19:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- People take too much offense to far too rediculous reasons. It's just something us smart people learn to forget. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.80.151.172 (talk) 15:18, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
