editDoes SNC Lavalin's previous ownership of a defence contractor to the United States and Canada qualify it for the status of a War Criminal? Are these comments non-biased and neutral?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by user:193.75.228.131 (talk • contribs) date.
- No, I've removed them. That SNC's previous involvement drew protest is verifiable, but I've removed the "War Criminal" reference. -Dhodges 17:04, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Suppressed link?
editHas an editor suppressed a link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNC_Lavalin_scandal ??
Can there really be no mention of SNC-Lavalin and Saadi Ghadafi in 2011 ??
What the SNC - Lavalin merger has meant for competition in Montreal ?
The state of Montreal infrastructure?
The role of New York organized crime in the pre-mixed concrete industry in Montreal ?
Not a single article from Le Devoir ? La Presse? Le Soleil?
No link to our https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Lamarre ??

Or is this article only edited by SNC staffers?

Low importance !?!
editWho other than the powerful few could rate an article on SNC-Lavalin as low importance?
In Ontario? But this is Montreal, centre of construction corruption on a scale no longer common in North America, in a province with a literally crumbling infrastructure and decades of a lack of transparency in both the industry, its unions and its government.
On expertise and the civic administration of Montreal, see recent editions of Le Devoir.

SNC-Lavalin and the flawed subway bids
editThere is no mention of the role of SNC-Lavalin and Montreal Metro and no link to the issues raised in our own flawed article on the metro. See my talk section on the decision to double-tunnel in parallel through the small area of downtown Montreal as if it were Manhattan or Chicago - or Toronto.

SNC-Lavalin news report
editCTV news web page QUOTE: "CTVNews.ca Staff

The head of engineering giant SNC-Lavalin has resigned after an internal probe showed he approved US$56 million in questionable payments that are now under investigation.

This article has already been edited for the departure of Pierre Duhaime, but I see no note to that effect in this talk page. Is someone at SNC-Lavalin itself maintaining this page ?

In the meantime, here is the address of Transparency International in Canada as TI has been very critical of Canada and its lack of prosecutions in bribery.

Did the head of internal audit at Enron go on to work as a chief auditor at a major US Corp ? You get only one answer. But, then, that is Chicago, where risks include then-Senator B. Obama (Dem) buying 10 feet of property from whom and for how much after a same-day purchase of a divided property ? Well, at least her husband is in jail ...

RCMP investigating corruption, fraud and money laundering in North Africa
editCan someone please add this information to Wikipedia:
"...It's not clear what charges Mr. Ben Aissa is facing but he is under investigation by the RCMP in Canada over allegations stemming from a scandal at SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. where he headed the company's global construction operations.
Jacqueline Buhlmann, a spokeswoman for the Swiss Public Ministry, confirmed that Mr. Ben Aissa had been arrested as part of an investigation that began in May 2011 into corruption, fraud and money laundering in North Africa." Ottawahitech (talk) 16:02, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
...and this:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/04/29/snc-lavalin-swiss-probe-ben-aissa.html
Justice officials in the Swiss city of Bern confirm that since mid-April they have been holding former SNC-Lavalin executive vice-president Riadh Ben Aissa.
"Ben Aissa is the subject of a probe into his business dealings in North Africa, including his native Tunisia and Libya, where he helped SNC-Lavalin win billions of dollars in projects from the Gadhafi regime, according to a joint investigation by CBC-Radio Canada and Switzerland’s public broadcaster RTS." Former CEO arrested
editLooks like I am not the only editor who is too busy to add to this article. Anyway, here is a list of references from stories that started surfacing three days ago (I am adding them all because I know from experience some will disappear in short order or go behind paywalls):

Astroturfing
editFor the sake of transparency, editor 142.242.2.248, who has spent quite a bit of effort adding PR mumbo-jumbo to the article, is making changes from an IP registered to SNC-Lavalin. Please watch the article carefully. - Sweet Nightmares 19:13, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
- I would also like to point out that editor Yves Comeau has a name conspicuously similar to someone who is a "Senior Advisor, Brand and Digital Strategy at SNC-Lavalin" and has edited only this article. - Sweet Nightmares 03:46, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
History section
editThe history section begins in 2011, 100 years after the company started. Doesn’t seem like a history section. —Kmsiever (talk) 23:53, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
- You're welcome to expand it, or let us knoe if you have reliable sources that be used to detail SNC-Lavalin's history. ☺ · Salvidrim! · ✉ 16:19, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Criminal Charges
editRCMP have laid criminal charges against SNC-Lavalin. See [1]. I have not added this to the article, but someone probably should. --Yamla (talk) 15:17, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Legal Issues
editThere is a broken link in the citation which supports the statement:
- "Most of the cases involve allegations of potential criminal activity by individuals who are no longer SNC-Lavalin employees, that took place before 2012."
- Cite link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNC-Lavalin#cite_note-CBC_Seglins_20130513-46
- External link: 10 countries where SNC-Lavalin contracts under scrutiny
It's supposed to link to CBC article by Dave Seglins, but leads to a page which displays "Sorry, we can't find the page you requested....". The correct link is probably https://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/snc-lavalin-payments/, which links to a CBC article with the identical date, title and author, however that article does not support the statement in any way. Should that statement be removed? --Jrexpr (talk) 21:28, 23 February 2019 (UTC)
Value/Currency of Atkins investment by CDPQ
edit"SNC-Lavelin acquired its UK rival WS Atkins—a British design, engineering and project management consulting firm" , with $1.9-billion investment from from [23] the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec,"
... is that number in C$ or USD? I would assume the former, but it would be nice to have it nailed down. Incidentally, over on the Atkins_(company) page, the same deal is said to be worth GBP 2.1 billion.
