editladakh has 02 autonomous hill councild in leh & kargil respectively, but they do not fall under schedule 06 at the moment. please check what is the exact law there.. thnx . Dara5128 (talk) 08:04, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- It has now been corrected. There are both Constitutional (6th schedule) and statutory (Acts of legislative) councils in India. It was previously mixed up.--117.230.50.162 (talk) 08:21, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
Constitutional vs Statutory councils
editThere are both Constitutional and statutory councils. Do not mix it up. As per the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, there are only 10 Autonomous District Councils in Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura. Additional autonomous councils are created by individual states by the Act of state legislation. 117.230.50.162 (talk) 09:03, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
