Battle of Brunanburh
edit"Mee (1965) states that the Battle of Brunanburh was probably fought here, in 937." I have removed this from the article as most sources place this battle in northern England or southern Scotland. Bfp (talk) 20:35, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Axminster - introduction - third paragraph
editAs a resident of Axminster for 16 years, I have never heard of the Red Dog saloon, of Dover and McCracken or of owners of a hostelry in the town who have remained in possession since 1981. I have consulted the present County Councillor who has been district councillor for many years and a local resident (with an entirely normal thirst) for over sixty years. That personality has no idea what this Red Dog saloon might be.
The two names are well-known spoof vulgarities, if one does not take them at face value.
Could an editor examine this paragraph with a view to deleting it ?Rupert Butler (talk) 22:49, 11 May 2016 (UTC)
