non-lethal vs. less-lethal
editThe article says, "less-lethal", but the reference it points you to (the corporate profile) says "non-lethal".
This could be due to a dispute over the truth of the "non-lethal" claim. If so, that should be made clear. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.146.59.230 (talk) 04:35, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- I changed it back to "less-lethal" and linked to an Amnesty International article that claims more than 150 TASER-related deaths. --SURIV 21:02, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Amnesty International don't strike me as experts in tasers. It seems that every time there is death of someone recently hit by a taser no investigation can prove a link between the taser and their death. Unbiased research and experiments seem to show that tasers are far less lethal then other devices. See taser-is-easy-on-the-heart at physicsworld.com in November 2007. Would it be better/safer to shoot people? Seems unlikely! 220 of Borg 08:42, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
TASER acronym
editI remember that TASER is an acronym-however, not the one given. Looking for confirmation here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.145.169.229 (talk) 03:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
TASER is an acronym for "Tom Swift's Electric Rifle". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.32.212.8 (talk) 19:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate page
editWhy do we have this page and also the one about Taser_International??? I think this page is a repeat. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Herbys (talk • contribs) 03:44, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
HELLO: Is anybody paying attention?
editAs the above editor noted, there are TWO entirely separate articles about this company -- and that's been the case for the last year-and-a-half. Somebody really needs to deal with this. Cgingold 10:19, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
TASER versus Taser
editAccording to Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Use standard English for titles even if trademarks encourage otherwise, this article should be titled Taser International. See also Talk:Taser#Capitalization of noun. I don't have a strong opinion, but uniformity would be nice. Flatscan (talk) 00:54, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- TASER International is now at Taser International, per your comment and per the Manual of Style. --Ckatzchatspy 05:11, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- On second thought, in the context of TASER the brand vs. taser the product, TASER is actually an acronym, originating from Tom Swift and his Electric Rifle. ViperSnake151 Talk 23:44, 8 April 2017 (UTC)

Improving the page
editThis page has a lot of false information, unfinished parts, and overall the structure seems pretty scrappy. While I'm not exactly an adept editor (I barely know what I'm doing), I'm trying to spend a lot of time improving it, fixing mistakes, and adding content.
Hopefully other people join me with this? Especially more experienced editors who can help or point me in the right direction Personhumanperson (talk) 18:12, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
