ayanamsa -
editWestern astrology uses the concept of fixed zodiac while Vedic astrology uses the concept of a moving zodiac. The moving zodiac gives a difference of about 56 seconds per year and this difference is known an Ayanamsa. The present value of this Ayanamsa is about 24.03 degrees.
