Other than the information in Henry Corbin's article in Encyclopedia Iranica there is virtually no detailed recent information in English language sources. The article by Jivanji Modi, although detailed (over 80 pages), is very much out of date -- it was published in 1932. For example, the author does not seem to know very much about Suhrawardi and the specific Illuminationist tradition. Mohamad Tavakoli-Targhi's recent article is somewhat on the postmod side of historical criticism and doesn't deal at much length with Azar Kayvan or the Sepassian. The recent critical edition of the Dabestan in Persian could be considered since it includes quite a wide range of annotated information, especially in the second volume.
In any case, there needs to be here also articles on the Dabestan-i-Mazahib and the Desatir. I encourage someone to consider writing these up, and hopefully articles that are a little less caustic in tone than the two entries in Encyclopedia Iranica.Thamarih02:39, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

The infobox in this article places the subject in the Christianity portal, which seems inappropriate, especially since there is a Zoroastrian portal. This appears to be because the 'clergy' infobox has been chosen, which is a subcategory of the Christianity template. Can't we either have Zoroastrianism as a category here (with its own infoboxes), or just add the Zoroastrianism template to the article (rather than the clergy infobox)? You can't unilaterally decide that Lord Meher is not a reliable source. You can't unilaterally decide that it is devotional and not a reliable biography. What is "Devotional"? and who decides. Not You, Mr Kidd. HoverfishTalk16:50, 8 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
