"Thrills"

The track "Thrills" isn't listed as a cover, but allmusic.com credits Willy Noel DeMoor and Jean Joseph Kluger as the composers. Is this correct? If so, is this a cover? Or perhaps this track was originally recorded for a film score? Maybe Kluger is the speaker who is sampled? -- Szarka (talk) 22:42, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

The original music recording was by The Chakachas and the original title is "Stories" (1972 Avco Records) The original composer was J. Kluger and W. Albimoor was the arranger. Looks like Cake took a little license on the credit. (which was also covered by Izit in 1991 and can be found on This Is Acid Jazz Volume One on Acid Jazz Records)

I haven't yet identified the spoken samples used over the instrumentation which is by Cake.DjFLWB (talk) 23:59, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

"Strangers in the Night"

It was listed as a Sinatra cover, but Wayne Newton's version is equally famous-- and the way Cake covers the song is MUCH more similar to Newton's version than Sinatra-- in arrangement, vocal delivery, etc. I think it's safe to say they're covering the Newton version. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.205.34.4 (talk) 18:19, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Alternate covers

The caption of the alternate cover posted may be correct, but it also may be misleading. The alternate cover looks like the "red/fresh cut roses" cover mentioned in the article. Also, do we want to show 5 alternate covers? --Wiki Pig5 (talk) 23:31, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Conroy as a DJ Greyboy remix

I can't verify that DJ Greyboy had anything to do with this track; there are no references to either "cake" or "conroy" on DJ Greyboy's official site and there are no references to "greyboy" on Cake's official site. Searching for just greyboy and conroy turns up nothing authoritative, featuring mostly lyrics and ways to download it, likely all from the same source and certainly not something you can trust (remember the old Napster days when everything was mislabeled?). There are some reviews there, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was due to reviewers downloading the mislabeled rip. Due to 2.5 years without answer, I have removed the attribution on the page. I almost used {{citation needed}} but decided it would look awkward and so removed it instead (I also fear that people would use lyrics sites as citations, ignoring the fact that if neither Cake nor DJ Greyboy mention it, it's probably not true).
