Images

edit

The article is currently a little untidy, and potentially distracting and consequently difficult to absorb due to the amount of media - diagrams and images. See WP:LAYIM for guidance on best use of images. See also Wikipedia:Good article criteria which has criteria related to these aspects of image and diagram usage. Please ping me if having difficulty in reducing images, or if in disagreement. I am working my way through Wikipedia:Good_articles/Geography_and_places#Places, to check on the condition of the listed articles, doing a full review or simply highlighting a concern as needed. Siege of Badajoz

edit

Relatively minor change to replace "English Army" with "British Army" - the former name did not exist in 1707 - following the main Siege of Badajoz article. That also uses "British-Portuguese", which may be even better - however I cannot locate a convenient online source for this.

Any help would be welcome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattwardman (talkcontribs) 09:04, 3 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good morning,

I think the mayor name hasnt been updated, the name of the actual mayor is Ignacio Gragera Barrera from the party "Ciudadanos".

Hope someone can update it.

Etymology of "Badajoz"

edit

It's a problem that the etymology of the Arabic Baṭalyaws (Arabic: بَطَلْيَوْس) is not explained in the current version of this article. Can this very basic information please be added? Does the Arabic name derive from the Latin "Pace Augusta," as Wiktionary says? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 23:56, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Badajoz mistaken with Beja

edit

As I noticed this article was claiming that the town of Badajoz was the roman city of Civitas Pacensis, which is not true as that is the town of Beja in portugal, almost 200km away. The rest of the article also claims that the town was founded by muslims in the 8th century. Lekelokobs (talk) 20:23, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
