Many people believe that the Muslims living here and in the adjoining areas of Dumuni Chowki are the descendants of two women converted to Islam. As a matter of fact the customs and the heritage of these Muslims are same as that of the Hindus living here. Both the Hindu and the Muslim women do not eat food before their husband partakes of the food. And when food is served in the household the first serving is always on the husband's plate or that of the head of the family.
