Just a life – the story of Fridtjof Nansen → ? – The current title is an English translation from the Norwegian title of the film “Bare et liv - historien om Fridtjof Nansen”, and follows Norwegian style. I don't know what it should be moved to, but the current title definitely should change. 〜 Festucalex • talk 05:39, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Why? In ictu oculi (talk) 20:36, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- For one, the capitalization is just not proper, and since there's no official English title for the film, the styling was "calqued" from Norwegian by an editor. Replacing the dash with a colon seems like a good start. 〜 Festucalex • talk 20:43, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Move to Bare et liv – historien om Fridtjof Nansen (or delete the article): That's how both of the external links refer to the film. There are no sources cited that provide an English title. — BarrelProof (talk) 04:21, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: I support the move to the original Norwegian title—but not deletion. I'm planning to improve the article. Remember, WP:NOTCLEANUP. 〜 Festucalex • talk 05:49, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- I don't know whether it should be "Historien" or "historien". The cited sources differ on that. Which is more conventional in Norwegian? — BarrelProof (talk) 01:18, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: It appears that Norwegian doesn't use title case at all ([1], corroborated by the Chicago Manual of Style 16th ed. 11:65), and so the grammatically correct Norwegian title would be Bare et liv – historien om Fridtjof Nansen with a small "historien". "Fridtjof Nansen" would still be capitalized as a proper noun. The en-dash with two spaces appears to be corroborated by the Bokmål Wikipedia manual of style. I can't find any differences between Bokmål and Nynorsk on these issues. 〜 Festucalex • talk 05:52, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- Changed suggestion to lowercase "historien" above. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:26, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
