Sources needed for...
editWe need a source for a couple of things. Can someone find a reliable source to include information that shows that he was actually appointed by the governor? In addition, can someone find sources for the 1993 Coin Dealer of the Year Award from the California Coin and Bullion Merchant's Association, the 2004 Abe Kosoff Founders Award from the Professional Numismatic Guild, and the 2005 James Blanchard Lifetime Achievement Award from the Industry Council for Tangible Assets? I'm sure there are must be a magazine or newspaper article from those time periods that states that information. Ryan Vesey Review me! 02:31, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Hey Ryan! Could you add this to the Barry Stuppler page? It's just a reference to a CNN interview he did. http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/business/2010/12/31/intv.wbt.gold.2011.stuppler.cnn?iref=allsearch. I'm trying to find references for those things you asked for. I contacted someone at ICTA and she said she didn't know of anything online that referenced the James Blanchard award. She said she could email me the board minutes, but that was all she knew about. HoytHeather (talk) 17:08, 20 June 2012 (UTC) Here's a reference for the Abe Kosoff Award. http://www.pngdealers.com/item.php?item_id=16&category_id=2 Thanks!HoytHeather (talk) 17:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC) Is this good for the CA State Quarter commission reference? http://www.money.org/Content/Media/ANAPR.08.16.02%20Stuppler%20Joins%20CA%20Quarter%20Concept%20Search.pdf HoytHeather (talk) 17:33, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- I should be able to focus on adding some of that information later this evening. The CA State Quarter commission reference you provided, still doesn't explicitly state that he was appointed by the governor, but I can use this to reword it so it is evident that it was Governor Grey Davis' Quarter Commission. I'll be able to add the Abe Kossoff Award information. I'll also be able to review the CNN interview later today. Depending on the content I'll either make a mention to the specific interview or add it to the second sentence in the first paragraph. Thanks and keep up the good work! - I updated Abe Kossoff, I'll work on the others soon, sorry for not getting it done last night. I am also putting "In 1999, Stuppler won the Numismatic Literary Guild award for best coin article in a commercial magazine for his article "Coins, Lies, & Videotape".[1][non-primary source needed]" on the talk until we can find a non-primary source. That way it is eligible for DYK. Ryan Vesey Review me! 14:03, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Two more things we noticed... on the American Numismatic Society heading, the actual name is American Numismatic Association (not Society). It's noted correctly in the body of that section, but the heading is wrong. And where you talk about the Abe Kosoff Award, it says Reward (not Award.) Haha. - Thanks for letting me know, that was quite a mistake. Ryan Vesey Review me! 22:52, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Hello...
I have a couple of new articles that I think might be relevant under the Gold & Silver PAC section. Here they are. Let me know if they are good. They are regarding new legislation that is currently being reviewed. http://www.ecoinnews.com/gong-bangs-time-to-act/ and http://www.numismaticnews.net/article/battle-against-fakes-continues and http://www.pcgs.com/Articles/Detail/7327. Thanks! HoytHeather (talk) 19:08, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Hoyt, sorry about this, I'll try to get the information included tonight. Ryan Vesey 19:47, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry for taking so long on this. In this case, I think it is best to wait for the law to (hopefully) pass. Right now, there isn't wide coverage outside of the coin magazine realm talking about the bill or Stuppler's role in it. Ping me again if other media talks about this or if the bill passes. In addition, I'd be happy to seek a second opinion from another editor if you disagree with me. Ryan Vesey 04:32, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
