Talk:Bearing Witness (2023 film)

Concern about first paragraph

edit

The first paragraph states that "Bearing Witness" contains scenes of rape, and provides a source. However, the source doesn't make any mention whatsoever of rape. Furthermore, in a review in Variety magazine (here), media analyst Andrew Wallenstein states that there is no scene of rape in the film.

Therefore, the reference to rape should be deleted. 190.151.168.41 (talk) 18:21, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. The sentence wasn't a summary either. Iskandar323 (talk) 18:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Are there any existing wiki pages about Hamas's own propaganda? Their original use of the footage? It seems like a very big part of the story of the war, but i can't find any pages about it? Irtapil (talk) 05:32, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I’m not aware of any pages like those 2605:8D80:425:3CBF:9EC:64A6:49AC:FF97 (talk) 23:18, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Or just any general pages about war propaganda from either or both sides? Slogans etc. Irtapil (talk) 05:36, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

It’s not concerning or surprising why there would not be pages like those on this platform, there are community guidelines with rules and details here to help us build the site. Wikipedia uses reliable sources, it doesn’t make sense to want to learn about the propaganda of a war that is happening right now or give information about that on a site like this one 2605:8D80:425:3CBF:9EC:64A6:49AC:FF97 (talk) 23:17, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

deflect criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza???

edit

The first paragraph states that the film is meant to "deflect criticism", and cites two seemingly unrelated sources. What the heck is that supposed to mean? A better wording would be that the film is meant to fight misinformation regarding October 7th. 80.112.169.138 (talk) 23:03, 25 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Neither article supports the statement. Claim does not match citation. Opinion as fact.

2nd paragraph of "background section" - change "In a single day, more than 1,000 Israeli civilians" to "In a single day, more than 750 Israeli civilians" Number of civilians killed on October 7 is known to be 797. Per: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Hamas-led_attack_on_Israel Info cited for this 1000 number were early reports later corrected. Saying 1000 civilians and 350 security adds to 1350 dead, when a total of 1180 is known for that day. Myxsoma (talk) 17:22, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
