Comment
editBoth the Systematic and Determinative manuals are still being produced and updated. Either they should both be covered here, or they should have separate articles. The Determinative manual is not an afterthought, though it is more of a handbook than an encyclopedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.75.154.70 (talk) 22:32, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, if you want you may add a section with details about the Determinative manual, or about the differences with the Systematic manual.--Wickey-nl (talk) 08:29, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

editI keep needing to reference bergey and to do so I copy paste the link, so I though it'd be good if references were here...

Desperate scientific need
editThis description desperately needs to make reference to the entirely transforming impact that molecular phylogeny, and in particular the 16S rRNA studies originating with Woese and collaborators, has had on systematic bacteriology -- where Bergey's has long been king over the realm. - Then you need to have reliable sources saying as much. We can't just include information based on the word of editors. This is an encyclopedia that goes off of outside published sources. SilverserenC 00:55, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified 2 external links on Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20081208050507/http://www.microbiologyprocedure.com:80/bacterial-classification/bergeys-manual-of-determinative-bacteriology.htm to http://www.microbiologyprocedure.com/bacterial-classification/bergeys-manual-of-determinative-bacteriology.htm
