"Yule (Christmas)"?
editFrom what I have read of the Shetland islands the word "Yule" refers to New years rather than Christmas. This is completely unique to the Shetlands. Christmas having some Gaelic name for birth. 05:06, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- The term "Yule" is certainly not unique to Shetland. Have you ever heard of the Yule log? You are confusing two different things. In Fair Isle and Foula, they still celebrate the old date of Christmas which is some days after the "official" one. This is because they are using the old Julian calendar.--MacRusgail (talk) 14:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
