Pictures
editThis article requires some pictures! I found actually found some, so could someone please upload this
- and this picture?
I'll add the license tags and rationale after the uploads. Thanks in advance! --71.118.83.19 00:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
I added the first two pictures, but the third is a picture of Barbie. Tikallover 18:01, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! --71.118.77.23 23:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Content
editThe earlier version of this article is mainly a copy of "Dollreference" (see under "External links"). Alas, it also copied some of the errors and misprints (f.e. "PRMY" instead of "PRYM") so I tried to put those right. There are more books about Lilli - I will add the titles ASAP. 14.14, August 8th, 2006.
I deleted some content because this article is about the bild lilli doll, not the newspaper character. Moreover, you got rid of a bit too much because even though it may have copied some information from "Dollreference", it is correct and should just be rewritten in a way so it doesn't copy the external link exactly. --71.105.2.90 02:59, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
The doll was designed and marketed as the three-dimension version of the cartoon character so the cartoon must necessarily be described. The information deleted by me was not correct; "Dollreference" contains many errors and the author certainly never read the original cartoons by Beuthien or the interview with Rolf Hausser. I have now added my main sources under "Further reading". 195.179.14.235 15:26, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Okay, but you can't add a picture by putting it there. That's not the way to do it. --71.118.80.215 18:41, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, but I don´t know how to do it. Do you? 195.179.14.236 13:25, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, sort of, but even if I do know, I can't do it - only a registered user can. --71.118.77.23 23:37, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
Sex doll?
editThe sex doll article claims these dolls were originally marketed as sex toys, and states that the inspiration for Barbie is "reputed." Huh? -- Sarrandúin [ Talk + Contribs ] 01:48, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
The doll was not a "sex doll". Someone has misunderstood the common misconception that Bild Lilli was a "sex toy for men", which it was not (it was a gag gift, not a "sex toy"). A sex doll is a doll that is to be used for simulated sex acts. Bild Lilli obviously was not.
- I noticed that the incredulous claim of both "Lilli" and "Barbie" being "sex toys" meanwhile has made it into the article, because a quotable source spreads it. I would not disagree with refering to them as "sexist toys" since their unrealistic and (at least partially) anti-feminist clichés are abundant. While it is true that some fetishists (I strongly suggest NOT researching this. Its absolutely NSFW!!!) project their fantasies on basically all sorts of female dolls, claiming that Barbie or Lilli were produced with that purpose in mind is dangerously inaccurate on a QAnon scale. Therefore I deleted the quote, on the basis of it spreading misinformation. As I said, I do not opppose the sexism accusation, but a "sex doll" it is definitely not.2003:CA:3F0B:DA66:5164:E0F7:F6E6:B0D0 (talk) 15:58, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
wardrobes/outfits
editdid Bild Lilli always have different outfits available? because there is a documentary on the Bio channel where the Barbie originator says that when she first saw the Lilli in Lucerne Switzerland, she asked to purchase one and she wanted extra outfits and they treated her like she was crazy, so that was her inspiration. It would make sense that Lilli would haved added this idea after seeing it, so does anybody know which doll had outfits first? It's fairly important because it is the whole idea behind Barbie's success. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.153.14.76 (talk) 17:58, 22 January 2007 (UTC).
Lilli always had many outfits. She was a German product so it is possible that not all articles of this doll line were available in Switzerland. There can be no doubt at all that the original idea for this doll came from Germany, but it needed Ruth Handler to turn it into an icon of the 20th century. There have been many good ideas in history but the main point is not having them but making them real. 195.179.14.235 13:51, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
External Links
editThere is a link here to the website http://www.bild-lilli.de/ . However, this website is mearly a placeholder and has no content. Shouldn't it therefore be removed?
Dollreference: "This site contains several errors and misprints." According to what source? this seams VERY close to a POV unless references are provided. CrazyRob926 11:04, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Some German names are misspelt in a way that shows that the author of Dollreference doesn't speak German at all, so she/he couldn't use the information contained in the German books about Lilli and the 3M factory. The "facts" given on this site differ in many points from them as well as from the Barbie Bazaar article and the English books. 212.204.77.31 11:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bildlilli2.jpg
editImage:Bildlilli2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Lili / Lilli
editI'm getting different results for each. Anyone know whether it's one middle 'L' or two? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.191.55 (talk) 23:52, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Most decidedly two! 195.179.14.235 (talk) 13:11, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Lilli
editIs there an article on the Lilli comic? As the origin for the doll, an article would be good. 70.24.247.54 (talk) 15:26, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

no mention the Lilli was a Call girl and Sex toy
editThis article completely overlooks that Lilli was a call girl and Sex toy. 2600:1015:A020:9310:1FC6:E6C9:8705:ABD8 (talk) 21:22, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
