Given the Dutch history of the area (Schouten Islands), my guess is that it's pronounced the Dutch way as [blʏpblʏp] (ʏ is roughly like the second u in future). It is also a way in which the sound of bubbling-up gases would be transcribed in Dutch. Thayts•••11:15, 14 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
