dangers of BG?

edit

as I understand it, BG's are vulnerable to flooding catastrophically ( ie they can flood a large amnt of water into the roof cavity) if the oulet blocks in eg a severe hailstorm. Given that the BG concentrates run off, unlike other gutters which tend to disperse it, this render the design inherently problematic in relative terms.I have no precise citation for this idea ( but I do have a BG in a house from 1911 - the only BG in a street of similar houses !)Feroshki (talk) 00:23, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am inclined to agree with you - detailing is everything, so I suspect you might find various editorial sources saying they are problematic and other technical sources such as SMACNA or NRCA manuals showing the way to make them so they are workable and lasting. --Teda13 (talk) 01:27, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
