Contested deletion
editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, it needs cleaning up and some care to make it a good page about a notable person. --Webhat (talk) 08:53, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Contesting Notability and Advertisment tags
editWith all respect to Orangemike but I disagree that these tags are required. The article does mention some of the subject's purchasable wares, but see this as no more disruptive than any mid range artist/magician. Further I diagree that the notability tag is appropriate. Considering that the subject is the host of 2 of the popular shows on different broadcast "newtowrks" it seems reasonable that they've easily cleared the GNG threshold. Therefore pending significant objection I intend to remove the tags no earlier than 48 hours from this comment Hasteur (talk) 20:44, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- We are talking about "podcast networks", not actual networks in any meaningful sense, like NBC or even The History Channel. I reject the assertion that being on any of these constitutes "notability" in any meaningful sense whatsoever. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:06, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Took it to AfD. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:08, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Subject has appeared on "actual networks," is a published author and touring performer, in addition to his internet presence. Your claim of non-notability seems to break down to "I haven't personally seen him on TV."
- I see people all the time on TV who are not now and probably will never be notable; your ad hominem assumption is not accurate. --Orange Mike | Talk 03:46, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
This guy is an amateur podcaster who specializes in providing instructions for petty con-artist tricks, hardly a "notable" person — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.234.129.26 (talk) 03:47, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Notable does not mean noble. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.220.123.1 (talk • contribs) 16:52, 20 August 2013
- Actually, he's a professional performer who literally wrote the guide book to fire eating who is an amateur podcaster in his spare time. It's easy to claim someone isn't notable when you ignore anything of note they might have done and try to claim an arbitrarily moral high ground. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.237.27.13 (talk • contribs) 03:20, 31 August 2013
- Let's not start throwing insults around here. The AfD has been closed as Keep and therefore the flimsy grounds that this article was taken on has been swatted down. Focus your effort into making this article even better. Hasteur (talk) 03:35, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Now that the "Keep" side has won, would some of you fix the formats of the purported "references" so we can figure out what the dickens they are? --Orange Mike | Talk 03:46, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Middle name?
editSome edits have gone back & forth on the middle name: Arlen or Allen. Either way we need a reliable source to verify. For the time being I've hidden the middle name with an editor comment. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 15:58, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
- As I am not a staple of the community, I'll leave it up to others to actually add the citation, but here is a video of Brian confirming his middle name. I see that links to YouTube are generally not appropriate, but since it's Brian saying it on his own YouTube channel, I would assume that it can count as a credible source. August 2014
editI took a lot of time to research Brushwood, including clarifying his middle name (in his archives of emails sent to his fans as well as an inspirational one to Teller he has his middle name of Allen listed) and hope that everyone watching the page will be able to take a moment and see if I missed anything.
