Bio
editI've tried to clean up the bio a bit, but it needs more work. I think it would be best to separate the film en theatre work. There are also important things missing, I believe. Fwend 09:41, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
Has he not been in movies, and if so why is there not a break down list here

Why dosn't his bio mention that hes a famous impostor? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imposter
The "Personal Life" section contains the following perplexing statement: "He died of special effects on July 12th, 1999." What on earth does that mean? 75.197.136.41 (talk) 23:05, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Irish American
editThere seems to be a concerted attempt on Wikipedia to remove all reference to Irish ancestry. Maybe whoever took Brian Dennehy's out would like to put it back?
Brian Dennehy has long felt an affinity for the plays of Eugene O'Neill.
"I think that my being Irish-American, the grandson of a factory worker in Bridgeport, CT, and my having been raised in a real Irish-American climate in Brooklyn and Long Island and New York in the 1940s and '50s goes a long way toward explaining it," Dennehy says. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.149.97.85 (talk) 16:08, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
There is no mention of his staring role in Category 6: Day of Destruction 2004 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_6:_Day_of_Destruction —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.36.29.53 (talk) 18:10, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Vietnam claim in the Wall Street Journal
editThe text here said
"In 2007, despite these apparent regrets, he once again told a reporter tales of his imaginary service in Vietnam, this time to Joanne Kaufman of the Wall Street Journal."
The snotball tone notwithstanding, this claim, and the claim from the Dallas Observer, don't perfectly jibe with the article's actual text, which says
"[Dennehy] served with the Marines in Vietnam–excellent preparation, he claimed, for his chosen career."
It's clear that a reliable source says Dennehy was making stuff up again, but without a direct quote, the section has to be mellowed out a bit because it's possible Kaufmann misstated what Dennehy said. CityOfSilver 21:31, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Unencyclopedic wording
editThis needs an overall copyedit. Parts of it read like some farcical attempt to sound like a Village Voice film critic, e.g. "He gained his arthouse spurs..." Pretentious crap like that is meaningless blather to most of our readers. — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ɖ⊝כ⊙þ Contrib. 09:07, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
Blacklist
editHe was in an episode of the TV series "Blacklist" called "The Ataxis Network" in 2016. I tried to add it, but don't have much experience with all of the editing marks, so I'd rather leave it to someone who knows better. It's confirmed on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001133/), but also on the credits list of the show itself. 69.142.70.108 (talk) 04:46, 29 April 2016 (UTC)
