Direction of road
editThe Infobox says North-South but the text of the article implies South-North. Consistency is a wonderful thing, but, before I touch this article, does anyone have a particular view that I should take into account? IMHO, many roads in Qld would best be described as either East-West or South-North on the basis of From the capital city (or a major route to/from the capital city), to a location further removed from the capital city. - After waiting over 2 years for a response I decided to bite the bullet 2 days ago and changed the info box to match the direction in the text. Within a period of somewhat less than 2 years I intend to add a major intersections table also matching the direction in the text. Downsize43 (talk) 06:09, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Downsize43, this is a late response, but in my opinion roads link end points (and stay still) so the direction of travel can be either way. It is the traffic that runs! I am in the process of adding maps to many Queensland road articles, thus making direction of the roads or highways obvious, and no longer needing text to describe it. I have altered the description to some articles already based on that logic, but would be pleased if you or other editors pitch in if in agreement. Summerdrought (talk) 02:07, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Summerdrought: The issue has been discussed previously at the WikiProject Australian Roads, with that consensus now at the project's WP:AURD/RJL advice page (under "Other issues"). Basically, either direction is fine, but if there is a direction evident in reliable sources we should follow it. (And maps are good to have, thank you for your efforts!) - Evad37 [talk] 03:14, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Evad37: Thanks for the info D, I had not seen the discussion before. Glad you like the maps, it saves having to describe where the roads go. More of them to come all being well. Summerdrought (talk) 03:52, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Locality of Lake Wivenhoe
editThe Brisbane Valley Highway crosses the Brisbane River on the top of the Wivenhoe Dam wall, in the locality of Lake Wivenhoe - see references. In WP, Lake Wivenhoe is a redirect to Wivenhoe Dam, and there is no article for the locality of Lake Wivenhoe. I believe this to be appropriate, so have prevented the entry of Lake Wivenhoe in the Location column from being shown as a redlink. Downsize43 (talk) 01:56, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
